Yep. Chew, swallow, chew, swallow. It works. OR you could hold your nose and blow real hard. THat pops ur ears even faster.

Yes, and sucking sweets. That's why on alot of planes they hand out sweets to suck when taking off :)

Yes, I was just on a plane trip the other day and gum does help, or you can swallow ( sounds gross but it works) and you can move your jaw up and down, ALSO you can plug your nose and close your mouth untill you feel it pop. I hope I helped a little! ♥Andie

yep. that and swallowing. and pinching your nose (with you mouth closed) and try to blow out.

all 3 work. people you ride planes and/or scuba dive have to do one of those 3.

Worked for me. So did swallowing, drinking water, and sucking boiled sweets though. Take your pick!

This is true, however I have found an even more effective way (like if you need to on a plane).
First, pinch your nose together. Then, as you are still pinching your nose, blow through it. (as if you were going to blow your nose) & make sure you are pinching tight!
