Hello there,

You have every right to be mad at your family for not sticking up for you.

Do they give any reason for leaving you to fend for yourself?

Are they hoping that you will become tough if they abandon you?

I would ask them directly why it is that they aren't taking better care of you.

If they have no reason, tell them that it hurt your feelings and makes you feel like you aren't part of the family.

This pisses me off just hearing about it.

DangerNerd.

Yes, you have every right to be mad!
Just tell them how you feel about them not sticking up for you. tell them that if it happens again you'd like them to be a little more defensive about it.
Maybe they just didn't want you to be embarassed about your disability or something so they didn't say much...
Well it wasn't much, but I hoped I helped! Good luck! -RiLeY

karenR answered Sunday April 3 2005, 3:13 pm:
You certainly have the right to be mad.
How old are you? It may be time to stick up for yourself a little. Friends and family may not alway's be there to defend you.
Did the offender know of your disability? I ask because not all are obvious and you didn't say.
Is offender someone who know's you or a stranger?

There are people in the world who are really insensitive and they aren't all that way on purpose. You might want to ask fam/friend's why thay didn't say anything.

well you can't hold a grudge forever, but yea I'd be pissed if one of my friends, much more my family did that. Have you confronted them about how your mad? if they have said sorry than you should forgive them, there really isn't anyway to completely heal the problem.

yes oyu do have he right to be mad if someoen made fun of a disability of yours, i mean you are just the same as anyone else. its not your fault you have adisability, and for your family to not defend you when you feeling sad, is wrong. I would talk to them about this situation, ans ask why the didnt defend you when this person made you feel bad...because it obviously hurt you. hope i helped! Good luck!

Yes, you have the right to be angry. Everybody does. But I don't really know what you should do because I don't know the entire situation. What is your disability and what did they say about you?

It's your choice whether or not you want to be mad, but being mad isn't going to help your situation any.

siozeegreat answered Sunday April 3 2005, 9:23 am:
Of course you have every right to mad! Nobody should offend anyone, and I know, that's kinda an 'idealist' type thing, but I think you should, with words, show whoever said something offensive, who's boss around here. Just tell them that they had no right whatsoever to say what they did.
If it gets bad, get a higher autority than the cops involved, like, a policeman or a principal.

Goodluck!

Right nobody has the right to bring you down nobody has the right to make u upset. If your family are not sticking up for you when something is bothering you then i think that you should sit down with them and talk tot hem about why they never stick up for you or defend you. with your friends not sticking up for you then i ma sorry to say this but then they are not your true friends, true friends stick by all the time through hard and easy times and in your case this is a hard time for you so if they are not sticking by you then they are not your true friends

thank you

HyperactiveMiss answered Sunday April 3 2005, 5:02 am:
Disability or no, no one should bring you down and say offensive things to you. The solution is not to yell and make things even worse. You need to talk to them calmly and make them understand what they just said to you. Are you sure your family and friends are not defending you? Perhaps you just have not explained to them what is happening and that you would like more support from them. Keeping your feelings bottled up makes you feel bad, AND no one knows how you are really feeling. Don't look down upon yourself and say people won't offend you just because you have a disability. Everyone is offended in some way or another. And we all have to work it out calmly. I hope you get the respect you want.
