I just got my period (i've had it for 2 years) and i noticed that in my pad the blood was dark black instead of red/maroon like it usually is. What does this mean??? its dark dark black. Am i dehydrated or sumthing?
EJ47 answered Friday April 1 2005, 7:25 pm: When blood dries after awhile, it retains its normal oxygenless color, a very dark dark red, almost black. People say its blue, but that is simply the veins leading abck to your heart... so really It hink you just kept the pad on too long.

shake answered Friday April 1 2005, 5:14 pm: NO, you're blood is INFRected, not infected. INFRECTED is a blood virus caused by a poison that has reached your blood stream by a cut or wound if you will. YOu should really get checked out to make sure its not seriouse. Im a doctor, well im studying to be one anyways i know these things. [ shake's advice column | Ask shake A Question ]
emoxemz answered Friday April 1 2005, 5:08 pm: Getting it dark black is normal. It's just when you keep the pad on too long the blood gets darker, that's all. ♥ Emma [ emoxemz's advice column | Ask emoxemz A Question ]
Girlfriend15 answered Friday April 1 2005, 4:08 pm: It just means your healthy. having dark blood is a good thing. if you've ever had a cut like on your leg or something and your blood came out darker than normal, that's pretty much the same thing. It happens to me to sometimes, it's nothing to worry about. [ Girlfriend15's advice column | Ask Girlfriend15 A Question ]
