well it makes your knuckles huge and ugly. and you get arthritis from it. try what cutters do. put a rubberband on your hand and then everytime you go to pop your knuckles just start snapping the band

heyy!! OKay cracking your nuckles makes them GROW BIGGER. Okay you could wear a rubber band and everytime you go to crack your knuckles pull on it. Dont pull to hard because you dont want tohurt yourself. Or, everytime you go to crack your knuckles think about and dont. Hehe Hope i helped ♥ Michelle

Try not the think about it. I would suggest to stop because first of all, it makes your knuckles huge. And second, because it is a proven fact that it leads to causing Arthritis.

try to stop thinking about it do some extra things to do. and craaking your nuckles makes them fat!!! you will have really big fingers. so if you ever get married you'll have to get your ring fit on your finger cause it will be fat. !try to stop!

There is no proof that popping your knuckles is bad for you. So you shouldn't worry about hurting your hands. It's just not a very attractive habbit. Think about it when you are around other people, and try to stop yourself then. Also try finding something to keep your hands busy with like a little toy or rubberband.

Cracking your knuckles is a habit that's pretty hard to break. I've never cracked my knuckles so I don't exactly know how you can stop. Just try distracting yourself when you feel that you need to crack your knuckles I guess. When you crack your knuckles for a long time, you will eventually get arthritis in your fingers and your fingers will become wider.

When you pop you r knuckles you're putting air into them which makes it bigger. I have this problem too. Everytime I get the urge to pop it, I just squirm my fingers around until the feeling goes away. Sorry it's not big help. But if someone gives you some good advice, TELL ME! (:

RoadkillSalad answered Thursday March 24 2005, 1:07 am:
It's bad if your in some quiet place and start popping your knuckles, but the common misconception is that popping knuckles makes your knuckles larger. This is simply not true. It has little effect on your knuckles other than loosening them up a bit. If you do want to stop it, it will just have to take thinking about it and stopping whenever you do start it. There's not really many good ways to help that I know, but that's what it does to your hands.
