Okay, so I eat good, I have gym class every day so I exercise5 times a week for and hour and a half, yet i'm still pretty fat. I mean I'm not obese. I'm about 150, but I'm 5'8. Al my friends are really skinny though so in comparison to them i'm huge. I don't want to hurt myself with an eating disorder or anything and I don't have time to exercise anymore, but what can I do?
lostinside answered Friday March 18 2005, 2:56 pm: You're not fat! You definately don't want to hurt yourself with an eating disorder, trust me, been there done that =. You're tall, and that weight is normal. My mom keeps telling me I can't compare myself to other people. I know it's hard, but try not to do it. Just try eating healthier, you might lose a few pounds by doing that. Just don't go crazy. Try eating more fruits and vegetables. Instead of picking up a bag of chips, have an apple. Or you could try making your meal servings a LITTLE smaller, not too much cause you don't want to starve yourself. Especially because you don't need to lose weight. Maybe try doing sit-ups or crunches.
TheToughPillToSwallow answered Friday March 18 2005, 2:05 pm: Sweety, you don't need to worry about a thing. You are not fat. Sure you have a bit of meat on you, but that's healthy. at the first sign of a cold bug your skinny little friends would all be home next to dead. You don't need to worry about what they think, just learn to like yourself. [ TheToughPillToSwallow's advice column | Ask TheToughPillToSwallow A Question ]
Melanie4981 answered Friday March 18 2005, 12:55 pm: You sound like you are in pretty good shape to me. You are tall so you are bound to weigh a little more than the average person. If you didn't you would look like a baeanpole! NOT a good look!
There is nothing healthy about being really skinny, guys don't like bones poking out of girls!!!
Just make sure you eat a healthy balanced diet and you will be fine!
chaos answered Friday March 18 2005, 9:19 am: You don't sound fat to me. If you are, its by only a few pounds. So if you are having questions, ask the doctor next time you are in, but I would continue in what you are doing. It could very well be partially muscle. Mercy_x_Me answered Friday March 18 2005, 6:28 am: Get better eating habits. AKA- drop goodies such as cake, ice cream, candy for a while.... and an occasional treat is ok. I heard dropping carbs really work well too. But its definetly in with the eating at this point. And remember, dont try to be anyone else, do this for yourself alone.
XxLiiLSiiNgErXX answered Friday March 18 2005, 6:09 am: wow hun, to me you sound pretty skinny. The thing is though that its probably your muscle and bone structure that weigh the most. Muscle weighs more than fat. And I'm the asme way. I'm built like my dad... 5'4 1/2 and i weigh 155. So dont feel bad at all. You are at a normal weight and if anything under your normal weight! :-p dont even sweat it! hope I helped!

TheTeenGirl answered Friday March 18 2005, 1:08 am: It sounds to me that you are fine the way you are. Being 5'8 is pretty dang tall, and the taller you are, the more you will weigh, lots of tall people have trouble understanding this, but its very true.
karenR answered Thursday March 17 2005, 11:30 pm: It sounds like you're about right. You exercise regularly too. You don't want to be skin and bone! Your friends are just toothpicks, don't worry about your weight okay? [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
JazzY answered Thursday March 17 2005, 11:17 pm: You sound like you're keeping control to me. Maybe try giving up junk food for a month and then reward yourself with a candy bar or night out with your pals. Something like that. I'm glad that you don't want to have an eating disorder, but I think you sound perfectly fine. I think sometimes that I can be kinda pudgy too but then I think about how I eat and exercise and stuff and it all seems okay. But like I said, you sound really healthy and I don't think you should worry about your weight. Maybe if you try what I suggested before you might be happier with your weight. I hope I helped you out at least a bit.

Sherry answered Thursday March 17 2005, 11:05 pm: I say talk to your doctor. Tell him your concerned with your weight and want to know if its okay to go on a diet. People here wont really know what to say to you, they'll give you diet tips but thats all. But what if you dont even need a diet? Contact your doctor or just watch what you eat. You seem fine to me but if you really want to lose a few lbs, cut out some of the sugary foods(candys, cakes, chips, cookies, etc.) and drinks (juices and sodas). And have water or crystal light(a great subsitute) instead! [ Sherry's advice column | Ask Sherry A Question ]
