Dark Hair

Question Posted Wednesday March 16 2005, 10:33 pm

I have dark brown hair, it kind of looks black. People say I can't dye it blonde, but I kind of want to since people believe they can stop me. My skin has a natural tan, if that matters. My friend said I could dye my eyebrows to match. What do you think?

This might be harsh, but it might not look so good. If you dont care what you look like, then go ahead. If you want a different hair look, try highlights, I would do a dark reddish brown and a sandy blonde<< make sure their light streaks. Try your hair stylist to get a good look. Hope this helps. xoxo BLONDE911

Well, if you want blonde hair dark eyebrows might look tacky, so you should do your eyebrows to match.

it doesnt matter what you look like... you should do with whatever you feel more comfortable with wether that be dye ur hair or keeping it the same. dont think what other people have to say cus by doing what other people do is keeping you inside the box! it a originalty is a key in life!

I don't know about the eyebrows thing. However you can dye your hair blond.May take a couple of times to do it but you can. I just used a hair frosting kit and dyed mine one time.It can be done.A professional would probably be the best way to go but I personally never tried one myself.

I think you shouldn't cut off your nose to spite your face. Just because other people say it can't be done, doesn't mean it can't be done, but sometimes it just shouldn't be. However, if you feel that strongly about making such a dramatic change, then you should do it. Just make sure you're doing it because you want, and not just cuz everyone says you shouldn't. If it seems like too harsh of a change (which I think it would be; I have dark hair myself and I couldn't imagine bleaching it blonde), then try out highlights or bleach your bangs first. You may want to lighten your eyebrows, but keep them a few shades darker than how light you're going to dye your hair.

Take it easy.

try getting some highlights done the next time you get a haircut or you can buy hair dye and put in some highlights yourself, they look great!

TeenageCupid answered Thursday March 17 2005, 8:43 am:
Well, I dont think you should do it yourself.
Stylists are the ones you should go to cause your skin has a natural tan. He/she's probably gonna die your hair a lighter brown and do some blonde highlights which would look awesome. If the eyebrows are too dark they'll dye 'em too.
I wanna dye my hair too, but I really cant afford the stylist. If you can, what are you waiting for? Get your butt over there!

It's all gonna depend on your skin tone, and what shade of blonde you can handle.I have very dark brown hair naturally, and once made the mistake of going blonde and bleaching my eyebrows to match!!OMG,I was so horrified I wouldn't come out of the house for weeks *flashbacks*...LoL anyway,my skin was too fair to pull off blonde hair, but you might be able to.I would go and talk to a stylist, they know best as to what will look good on you.If you can't go blonde, you can always add large blonde chunks or streaks!Hope this helps! :)

Hey, um lets see i am going through the same thing so what i say is just go with what you think is right, if you want to dye ur hair and eyebrows, then do it, and remember dont live your life pleasing people, BUT, be sure that its what you want, and you wont loose anyone close to you over a fight about this, this is only my opinion, laters.

good luck

Altazuma answered Thursday March 17 2005, 12:59 am:
Go to a Salon but make sure it is a good one. A cheap place will try to dye it blond when maybe it is just too dark to do it properly for your hair type. Last time my gf tried going blond they used so much solution to get it blond it basically fried her hair. She lasted two days and cut almost all of it off. So go somewhere that you trust their advice. A place where they would rather tell you not to if it wouldn't suit than think "oh gee, I can charge X dollars for this".

Go to a salon and ask a professional. Do NOT try to dye your eyebrows on your own! Even if none of the dye/bleach gets in your eyes, your eyes will be damaged. Go see a salonist.
