Im 17 and this is really embarassing but, I havent had my period yet. I feel ashamed and worried that something is wrong ! Im a virgin, if that matters that much. Im so worried & i feel bad because I tell my friends I have it, and I even use pads hoping it will come. Whats wrong with me? I need to know what to do!

Chances are nothing is wrong, but you're going to want to head over to your doctor's. Generally, if people haven't started their periods by about 16, they need to be checked out to make sure everything is okay.
Only a doctor can tell you how developed your body is and when you can expect your period - so make an appointment. This is a common occurance, so there's no need to feel embarassed when talking to a doctor.

Nothing's wrong with you. Some people just get their periods later than others. You have nothing to worry about. It should come soon.

its okay, dont worry! well, i am really confused. if you havent had it in over a month? well, thats okay, they take time to get in a steady pattern, and its okay! just dont worry, everything is going to be fine!
if you have never had it before, thats fine too! some people dont get it until their twenties, others can get it when they are 9 or 10. its all okay. dont worry!!

everybody gets there period at different times..don't be two worried..but if you really are then you should see a doctor. just remember that everyones different. and you shouldnt be scared *KaysEe

Nothing is wrong and it is normal for you not to have gotten your period yet. Some girls get their periods earlier and some get their's late and you will get it eventually. Usually, when you are 18 and you haven't gotten your period, you should talk to a doctor even if you know there isn't anything wrong.

Nothing some girls dont start till very late on i was last in all my friends and i felt so left out but its nothing good about your period.

Just talk to your mom. Some people dont get it until there 17 anyways. 17 is pretty much the deadline but you should go get checked out. When you are 18 you have to go to the gyno anyways your might wanna mention whats going on and your kind of curious. Or you could go in and get birth control pills to give you your period. They wont have to go down there either. -trix

Wow.. uhm. If you think back to those pubeRty classes in fouRth, fifth, and sixth gRade.. they all suggest consulting a doctoR if by the age of 16 you have not yet began youR peRiod. HoweveR, theRe aRe exceptions to just about eveRything - what I've always been told is that active athletes noRmally staRt aRound theiR late teens. Now, I can't confiRm whetheR this is tRue oR not, but I have most definitely heaRd this. Also, genetics come into play. Talk to youR Mom oR sisteR about when they got theiR fiRst peRiod. You should *definitely* consult a guaRdian about this. And who's taking caRe of you? Don't youR paRents notice they neveR buy you the necesities? You said you weaR pads some days, which is definitely not a bad idea, wishful thinking and suspicsion neveR huRt anybody. IF you're super skinny and athletic, then it won't come until maybe even your 20s, but if you're still worried, tell your mom or someone, or make yourself a doctor appointment. Or like go to your OB/GYN, or well just your GYN...
But I know some girls who didn't get theirs until they were 16 and 17 and 18 years old. But if I didn't have mine, and I was 17 I'd probably go to the doctors.

Hun I really think you should tell you doctor you could have something wrong down there that could affect alot of things such as having babies.. You really need to get checked maybe they can help you... but you need to hurry and make a doctors appt.. hope I helped lots of luck..

There's nothing wrong with you at all hun. My friend only started her period when she was 18. Give it time and it'll come. If you feel like something is wrong, go to the doctor.
