hmm difficult. has he answered the letters?? if he hasnt he may get a little eeked out by it...so wait until he answers your letters. if he has, then that means hes comfortable with you as a friend...so i'd say go for it! if you dont want to say stright out 'are you single', change the wording to something more comfortable for you to say.

Nope, it wouldn't be rude at all to ask this guy if he is single. Most guys wouldn't think that would be rude and they don't mind being asked that question. Just go for it and ask him.

nah, it wouldn't be, I'd kind of hide around the topic, like "oh man, you just reminded me of my ex boyfriend! but now I am a single girl, what about you, whose your chick?" I know you have no idea whether he has a girl, but just kind of assume it, like your not asking really. Good luck with the note.

Well, you like him, and you send letters to him.. lol Well, ask around, friends, but don't bug!! If you ask politely, it's not that bad. Just be like, "Do you have a girlfriend? If so, what's her name? What's she like?" you want to sound interested, not rude. Don't be pushy though. :) Smile and keep a good attitude no matter what!! God bless!

Doesn't it somewhat depend on how far apart you are from each other? If he's down the block, make a jello mold and give it to him when you ask; if he's across the continental divide and then some, yeah sure ask away.
