my throat kills
i have a fever and my throat feels like its bleeding and when i swallow it hurts really badly, my mouth also produces thick spit which is kinda nasty... if any of you have any advice as to how i can get rid of this please help. thanks

It could be tonsilitious. I thought a case like mine was like that untill I had a blood-test and found out it was Mono. It could be! Have your doctor check it out.

I just got over the same thing. (it sucks dont it?) My doctor perscribed Amoxicillan, but I didnt really need it. If you dont get better in about 2 days, go to the doctor....and get alot of sleep

Before you do anything go to the doctor and ask for a perscitption. If you have cough drops around your house use a lot of them. Drink tea with honey. AVIOD MILK AT ALL COSTS!!! I hope I helped! ♥ good luck

i dont know on getting rid of it but when my throat hurt like that my aunt said to gargle mouthwash!

You could try brushing your teeth more often then usual and gargling with mouth wash. You should brush your tongue too. If it doesnt go away, the only other option is to visit a doctor. He or she can give you some medication to heal what may be strep throat. Dont share drinks with anyone for awhile.

I have to agree with jbdreamer and MFS; it sounds like you possibly have strep throat. You need to go to a doctor to get some antibiotics and get tested if you do have it. Just drink lots of water and drinking tea with honey will help clear up your throat a little bit and you will have a clearer voice. That spit is also a sign that you could have strep throat. I feel the exact same way! I suggest going to the doctor.. they'll give you medicine. For now, get lots of rest and try some cough/throat drops. Feel better soon! If you need anything else, just send me something. ♥ Kristen

ditto what the Dreamer said... go see a doctor. Especially since you have discharge and a fever - this time of year is ripe for strep to spread rapidly as the temperature bobs up and down.

Sounds like Strep Throat. You need antibiotics, go see your doctor. Try drinking warm tea with honey to sooth. Don't drink anything too hot or cold.
