i have the abilty to get good grades and i already know that. the problem is that i can't seem to always do my homework and focus on my classwork. i need ways to help me focus and do my homework right when i get home.
Toca_says answered Wednesday February 9 2005, 9:40 pm: i used to have the same problem as you.. ((actually sometimez i still do)) but here's my suggestion...have your desk clear and empty... when you get home go straight up to your room and just close your door, get out all of the stuff you need for your homework.... the desk will help you to be focused and organized and then you will be able to finish faster.... try to avoid all distractions.... ((if you need to have a water bottle so0o you won't need to go to get a drink)) this way you'll have time for fun later after your homework.. hope i helped =) [ Toca_says's advice column | Ask Toca_says A Question ]

ballerina04 answered Wednesday February 9 2005, 6:26 pm: I have a hard time settling down and doing my homework too. I have a couple ideas that I'm going to try: Go into a room with nothing to distract you. No radio, no TV, no computer. Or just think..Isn't it going to be great that you can get all your work done and just relax for the rest of the night? Try to get into a positive mindset. I hope I helped! If you need anything else, feel free to send me something. ♥Kristen [ ballerina04's advice column | Ask ballerina04 A Question ]
MatchMaker answered Wednesday February 9 2005, 6:24 pm: This is a old but good trick say you have this food you like say candy so you make your self do a page of homework and once you do it you give your self some candy. Gum makes the brain think! Also sit in a quiet place no siblings, well I have to turn off my laptop later and hope I helped
underline answered Wednesday February 9 2005, 5:11 pm: In class: try to write down the things the teacher writes on the board (not all of it...unless you really want to, but key words) just so you keep focusing on what you're supposed to be learning.
At home: turn on quiet music just so you have some background noise, and do your work in small parts. So if you want to watch TRL or something at five, start working at four. Then you have a reason for a break. But don't take a break before that, or you'll loose focus. [ underline's advice column | Ask underline A Question ]
poopiepantsgirly answered Wednesday February 9 2005, 3:51 pm: I think that you should go to your room and review over what you learned in class that day and then maybe try to concentrate. By doing this you should take out all the negative things and other stuff that dont let you concentrate. Hope the advice help. [ poopiepantsgirly's advice column | Ask poopiepantsgirly A Question ]
Shortie8959 answered Wednesday February 9 2005, 3:07 pm: Wow, I'm in the same situation, lol! What I'm PLANNING on doing, and hopefully I will, is to make yourself a snack or whatever that you can eat while doing your homework and listening to music you like. Both will get you in a better mood. Don't watch TV, it'll distract you and you won't get anywhere. Then when you're done, call a friend, watch TV, go on the computer, or whatever you like to do, as a reward. Good luck!
Hope I helped!

SakuraSong answered Wednesday February 9 2005, 2:25 pm: Dont eat so much sugar. First, take a shower when you get home everyday, and then do your homework, becasue water can help relax you first. Then, put out some of your faavorite food in front of yourself, and try NOT to eat it until you finish your homework. You'll feel guilty if you eat it before your done. It has worked for me because i had the same problem. lols. And try to plan out "long distance" homework. Like, if your teacher gave you a book with 30 chapters to be done in a month, then you make yourself read a chapter everyday! [ SakuraSong's advice column | Ask SakuraSong A Question ]
MFS answered Wednesday February 9 2005, 1:37 pm: Isn't the fear of failing enough of a motivator for you? Perhaps you need to get a few horrible grades to make you get some perspective? I would hope that knowing you have a lack of focus would be enough to motivate you to try a little harder and concentrate on your studies. No one can give you that motivation other than yourself.
