Shaving
I'm a 16 year old girl, and I don't shave my legs or armpits on any regular basis. I'll do them for special occassions or if I'm wearing a special outfit, but most of the time the hair just doesn't bother me so I don't bother removing it. I figure that it's my body, and my time and energy that I'm saving by not shaving, but sometimes I worry that guys won't be interested in me because of this and I've got to the age where I wish guys expressed more interest in me. Should I start shaving, or should I just wait for a guy who doesn't mind me being me?

Shave if somebody is going to be looking at that part of your body. Otherwise, it's a waste of time.

ewwww i always shave. it is not a matter of just being who u are, it is hygien and we just gotta do it without complaining. Sure its ok not to shave ya legs in winter when you are going to have youer legs and armpits covered but if you are going to expose them, then get rid of the hair! it turns everybody off! you dont have to shave everyday, if you dont want to, just shave every second or third day, but you have to shave your armpits everyday coz the hair there grows quicker and thicker than the hair on ya legs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOT shaving is not unhygenic. Otherwise boys should shave too, but nobody says anything about that. In fact, not shaving your underarms helps the deoderant stick and probably keeps you smelling nicer, longer. And obviously, shaving your legs isn't unhygenic either. I don't know why everybody's like "eeewies gross!"...incredibly immature and mislead. It's grows there for a reason.
Sometimes shaving irritates the skin and creates razor burn, too. I know it bothers me. So don't worry about it. All of the people who get weirded out by it are just strange. Women didn't start shaving until VERY recently. Body hair was supposed to be a sign of maturity. It was sexy. And a lot of guys I know don't really care either way. And if your future boyfriend does, just ask him if he'd like to shave his whole body and suffer the razor burn. Then he might have more sympathy.
Just do whatever is most comfortable.

I would shave if it is really noticeable but you dont have to shave at all if you dont want. As far as guys are concerned, they'll hardly even notice. Hope my advice helps!

I think it's great that you do what you want. A lot of girls don't shave their legs right now since it's winter. I would recommend shaving under your arms more just for hygenic reasons.. it makes you sweat more and traps odor.. anyway there are plenty of guys out there who will like you for who you are but you might not find that type of maturity level until college and I don't know if you want to wait that long. High school sucks, hippies rock. Do what you want to do, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. rock on.

well, shaving isn't just about you being you, it's also hygiene. girls are supposed to start shaving around your age because of hygiene issues, so honestly, i would start shaving. i used to not shave, but i was told then to start shaving because it could give me some problems with my skin if i didn't. hope i helped.

Its your chooce do what you feel right because under your arms is not so noticable if you havent got them showing and the same with your legs but if you wear short skirts mabe you should shave it doesnt take that long and it will be you feel a whole lot better just dont cut yourself

omg your JUST liek me!! i do that too! i've been doing it since like the 6th grade (in 11th grade now) i haven't told anyone about it, i just wear pants all the time and if i wear skirts or roll my pj pants up a little bit.. or if i wear a sleaveless shirt. Nobody ever notices it as long as whenever you do deside to show your legs or raise your arms, their smooth.. plus if someone does find out, be like it's winter and im not gonna where shorts of skirts and show my legs right now anyway, so why waste my time in doing it. make up some stupid excuse that's pointless, but makes sense.. It's perfectly normal, i wouldn't worry about it.

yes you should shave your legs and armpits. you dont have to shave as often in the winter, becasue no one will see you, but you should still shave. instead of like every day to every other day maybe like once a week would be better. but if you dont shave, that is sorta very unlady like. sorta gross to.

I think that it is better that you shaved because thats really not so girly and if you want a guy to like you then I think that you really need to start taking care of your self as a teenage girl should. Maybe thats the reason guys are not interested in you so start shaving and show those legs off.

i dont shave my legs very often either...maybe once a week just if that and guys have never seemed to mind. But my underarms is a different story...i know girls who dont shave at all and they are doing ok with the guys. Just do what you want, if it makes you uneasy then shave more. If you dont care then dont.

To be honest I didn't shave religiously at your age either, like you I'd shave if I was wearing a skirt or a dress or was going somewhere special but other than that I didn't bother!!
The only person that really saw my body other than me was my boyfriend and he didn't really mid one way or the other.
As long as you are comfortable with your own body then that's fine!!
