This second thing is to relax, maybe if you practice infront of people before you go for the audition you might not be as nervous. Don't worry if you are a bit nervous as everyone gets nerves at sometime or another, and anyway, nerves are meant to improve you performance!

Ask your drama teacher for a good monologue for you or read some plays and cut them yourself. An important thing about an audition is looking and acting professional. Pull your hair out of your face, where solid colored, non-distracting clothing and minimal jewelry. And as for confidence, the more you work on your audition pieces, and the more comfortable you are with them, the more confident you'll be. sexiibrunette answered Wednesday January 19 2005, 5:31 pm: to practice auditioning, if you take drama classes (if you don't then have a friend do this) have the teacher give you a pretend audition with a couple other people. have her have you memorize a short script and then perform it. then have her rate you 1-10 on your performance. im assuming you've done shows before so most likely how nervous you are and the confidence you have when you perform in the shows will be similar to how nervous and confident you are when you audition. when you get up at the actual audition just tell yourself and remember that your an awesome actress and that you'll do great! im sure you are an awesome actress and that you will do great! i actually love to act and dance too! could you tell me the name of the school you're going to? hope i could help!

*And if anyone tries to intimadate you, don't let it get to you
*don't stay up all night the night before auditions practicing and then feel tired during you're auditions
*if you see whoevers judging you and flip out, just focus one one thing in the room while you are preparing to audition
SuddenlyFem answered Wednesday January 19 2005, 2:30 pm: Remember that there will be many people at these audtions. However dont let them intimidate you. You know who you are and what you are capable of. Just Breath you will do fine. [ SuddenlyFem's advice column | Ask SuddenlyFem A Question ]

Well... i would just maybe practice in front of friends and family, they're honest, and will tell you what you need to work on! Also try maybe auditioning w/ a piece of a play that you know well! hope this helps! and good luck!
chaos answered Wednesday January 19 2005, 9:45 am: Have you talked to your drama teacher? Maybe you can make an appointment with him/her to discuss tips in auditioning and/or a test audition. It shouldn't be that difficult to arrange. Prepare your audition piece, it's usually one straight, one comedy, and one song. Sometimes there is a separate dance audition. If there is a community theatre in your neighborhood, get involved with their auditioning schedule. Most towns have at least one or more you can go to whether you take the part or not. The more time you do it, the more confident you feel. Preparation and practice are always key. [ chaos's advice column | Ask chaos A Question ]
