The key to singing is commitment. To become better, you must involve yourself in as many ways as possible. I would highly suggest taking voice lessons, as well as joining a school choir or a local community or church choir. If you end up taking lessons, you can participate in vocal competitions like NATS and solo and ensemble. Competing gives you hands on experience and performance skills, both of which will help you become a better singer.

Windsor stores are located in most malls and have beautiful reasonably priced dresses. You might also want to check out ebay. Seriously. You can find amazing vintage dresses that are unique as well as inexpensive.

Q: Okay so yes I have winter formal coming up on Saturday night. I got my dress and shoes, then I realized: I have no freakin clue what to do with my make up. My normal style of make up would look horrid with it. I have light blonde hair, blue green eyes and fair skin. My dress is an offwhite color with gold stitching in the top. Anyone have any ideas?

Since you didn't specify what kind of dress you got, I came up wityh three simple ideas.
wild- Try blue mascara and iridescent eyeshadow, light pink cheeks and a purpleish pink gloss.
classic- Try black eyeliner, lengthening black mascara, a dab of blush and deep red lips.
girly- Try black mascara, shimmer eye shadow, pink cheeks and lips

Q: Hi I'm an A level drama student thinking about going on to drama/dance scool in london and I've not done any auditions before has anyone got any tips to help with nerves and confidance?

First off, pick audition material that shows off your talent. Polish these pieces so you know them backwards ad forwards. Ask your drama teacher for a good monologue for you or read some plays and cut them yourself. An important thing about an audition is looking and acting professional. Pull your hair out of your face, where solid colored, non-distracting clothing and minimal jewelry. And as for confidence, the more you work on your audition pieces, and the more comfortable you are with them, the more confident you'll be.

Q: i am, well, you could say a Drama Geek. lol. i have not missed even ONE audition for any school or community plays since i started my freshman year (i am finishing my junior year right now). there for a while i kept getting chorus or extra, which was fine to start with, but when i decided i wanted bigger parts, last summer, i was not put in any production for about year now!!! i try out and try out, but never even get a part! is there anythign i can od to improve my skill and/or have a better audition?

You have already done a lot. Truly dedicated "drama geeks" keep auditioning no matter what. Your dedication will be noticed by directors. And do not fret, most directors go unfortunately by seniority. Hang in there, keep auditioning, and your chance to shine will come!

Q: I am pretty actively involved in musical theater and have an audition coming up soon! For my audition, I need 2 sing a song, but the problem is, I am having trouble finding a good song 4 my voice. Does any1 have any song suggestions for an alto girl? (Broadway or Disney songs are preferred most by the directors, but I'm willing 4 other suggestions 2!) Thanks all!!

If you are auditioning for a musical, try to stay away from Disney songs. They are often overdone and are not in the Broadway style directors want. Try some low belty songs like "Aquarius" from the musical Hair and "Money, Money, Money" from the musical Mama Mia! with songs by ABBA.
