I have a friend that sleeps with a lot of people, I tell her it's bad but she still does it. Well one day during lunch she took a pregnancy test (she never uses protection, and she's been pregnant before but had a miscarriage) and well it came out positive. She got home and somehow her mom found out, and was like "How many times are you going to do this, you act like a ho, stop sleeping with people" and stuff like that. And then she told me she took another test and it came out negative saying that she wasn't pregnant. So that's what she belives, she thinks she isn't pregnant. Is she pregnant? I heard that the only time pregnancy tests can possible lie is if it comes out negative, and that if it comes out positive then she's defninitley pregnant. Which is true? Is she pregnant?
Additional info, added Friday January 14 2005, 9:51 pm: I had some spelling mistakes that I noticed, sorry. *believe instead of belive, and *possibly instead of possible* and *definitley instead of defninitley. Sorry, I was typing sort of fast.
She's 14 years old, a freshman, and it's my friend, NOT ME!. Want to answer more questions in the Health & Fitness category? Maybe give some free advice about: Health? lildiamyn_69 answered Sunday January 16 2005, 11:10 pm: Sorry to say, but I am almost certain she is because pregnancy tests give an answer based on if they detect the special hormone that is only produced when you're pregnant. So since the 1st test did find the hormone, she is.
The second test is most likely wrong. It probably didn't pick up the hormone that time.
So, she should watch out for more signs like morning sickness and such. Hope I helped. [ lildiamyn_69's advice column | Ask lildiamyn_69 A Question ]

kevin1986 answered Saturday January 15 2005, 11:52 pm: How can I possibly know the right answer to this question? I can't. The way to tell for sure is to either wait til she gets morning sickness or see a doctor. [ kevin1986's advice column | Ask kevin1986 A Question ]
alisonmarie answered Saturday January 15 2005, 8:17 am: If she's taken two tests and both have given different results, then there's no way to tell. She needs to take some more tests - and the only way to be POSITIVE is for her to see a doctor.
She'll want to see a doctor anyway, as unprotected sex can lead to all sorts of sexually transmitted diseases. These can render her infertile in the future, cause pain, never go away, or even kill her. She needs to be tested for all of these, and then speak to her doctor about birth control methods: the pill/patch/shot for pregnancy, and condoms for disease prevention.
