No, being a vegetarian is not a bad thing. Tell your friends that being a vegetarian is not being anorexic because you still get your protein by eating grains and stuff. Hope I helped :)

It's perfectly possible to eat a full and balanced diet as a vegeratrian, and maintain a healthy weight. It is however possible to have a bad vegetarian diet, as meat is most non-vegetarians source of protein, and if you just stop eating meat without adjusting your diet and making sure you catch up the protein elsewhere, you can end up not getting all the food groups you need and feeling ill and lethargic and/or loosing weight.
So no, being vegetarian will certainly not make you anorexic, but nonetheless it is important to watch your diet quiet carefully if you become a vegetarian, and make sure you are getting everything you need. It may be worth taking vitamins and cod liver oil to supplement your diet, as vegetarian diets can lack these and be boosted by supplements. If you are concerned about getting enough, talk to a dietician about how you can eat sensibly as a vegetarian. Good luck. ]
no not at all. you just have to make sure to eat the right amount of minerals ur body needs to survive. tahts all ]
Well if your friends think being a veg. is like ur anorexic bc you dont eat meat thats just plain stupid Im sorry but it kinda is. Theirs nothing wrong with being a veg. First of dont care what your friends think especially if it has to do with food but its not a bad thing kays! ]
No its not you just dont like eating animals or whatever my friend memz is one! ]
Nope. Being a vegetarian isn't bad. It's one of the many different ways that people choose to decide what to eat. Some people are Kosher, some people eat macrobiotic, some people eat vegan. It just depends on what makes you feel best.
Many people get confused when talking about "diet" because they associate the word with trying to loose weight. "Diet" is a term that means "what you eat". A person on a vegetarian diet might be trying to loose weight, or gain weight, or might not care at all about their weight.
No matter what style of diet you choose to follow, you need to keep an eye on nutrition. There are very few diets that require vitamins (fruititarianism is the only one that I can think of off the top of my head). Many people take vitamins "just to be sure", or because they don't want to pay attention to what their eating and taking a vitamin gives them a little more leeway in their eating habits before they get sick.
People are amazingly varied creatures, and one of the ways we celebrate our diversity is through the different foods that we eat - or choose not to eat. ]
No, being a vegetarian most of the time doesn't have anything to do with wanting to become ridiculously skinny. It's either the belief that you shouldn't eat anything thats lived (meat) or you want to live a healthier life. As long as you take vitamins for all of the things you are missing from meat, I don't see the problem with being a vegetarian. ]
It's not bad, but Very hard to keep healthy. Get books and search online for info about it and get very knowledgable on how to create balanced meals. You need to be getting enough of the essential nutrients every day. You'll need to find the substitutes for the things found in meat! Good luck! ♥ please rate! ]
It most definately isnt. Also, if you are eating diverse types of food you wont be lacking anything in particular (though everyone will probably benefit from a vitamin pill). Tell your friends that vegetarians enjoy many advantages over meat eaters. Most live longer healthier lives because their diet tends to be lower in saturated fat, cholestrol etc. Also, the protein requirements are far more easily met then most meat eaters think. How you get your protein best depends on what type of veggie you are (i.e if you still eat dairy products, or eggs or fish or if you a vegan). Anyway, we have had at least one vegetarian Mr Universe and (if memory serves) a few iron man winners (or whatever that competition is called). Sry to go on like this, but the short answer is you are probably better than ok. ]
if you want to be a vegetarian, you can be. but listen, to stay healthy you have to take a lot of vitamins because youre missing a lot of things you need to maintain your health. dont worry about what your friends think. just make sure youre not putting yourself in danger.

NO, being a vegetarian is NOT bad!!! Your friends obviously don't understand that you can get your protein from something other than meat. That's what they're worried about.
Tofu, eggs (which you probably don't eat), and protein drinks, as well as vitamins help supplement anything that might be missing when you go without meat. But let me tell you so you can tell your friends, for the most part, Most vegetarians are actually HEALTHIER than meat eaters. Let them think about that.
Hope that helps. ]
No! There's nothing wrong with being a vegetarian. I myself am one. Unfortunately alot of people overreact to it and make it a big deal. Not eating meat (for whatever your reasons are) is nothing to be ashamed of or criticized for. Try explaining to your friends it's simply your choice (Which by the way happens to be a healthier lifestyle compared one that involves eating meat), giving them some small facts mind open their minds a little. ]
