My mouse is obese. I don't know what to do--I put her in an exercise ball and she just sat there (I don't think she knew what to do). I don't want to give her less food because I'm afraid she'll starve. What can I do to make my mouse lose weight? note--I've tried gerbil wheels on other mice, but they sometimes get caught and die so I'm afraid to use it.

There is a possibility she may be pregnant if you just got her recently from the pet store. The stupid people always mix up the males and females. She'll be pregnant if she looks abnormally big around her center. (If you do find babies in the cage some day and don't know how to take care of them etc, ask me anything. I have a lot of experiece with this).
If she's not pregnant:
I'd try watching her diet first (you can look the best diets up on the net). As for exercise, some mice just don't want to exercise and yours may be one of them. As for the gerbil wheel- there are some safer wheels that have no bars on the sides (you can find an example here: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)).
Lastly, if your mouse still doesn't loose weight then it's all genetics and there is nothing you can do (as bad as it sounds). But I have had some obeese mice in the past and they still lived about 2-3 years. :)

You could try giving your mouse less fatty things like sunflower seeds. Also, gerbil wheels could be used if they don't have any openings.

Yeah, I had a pair of rats that were really fat. The trick is to change their diet. The food I fed them from the pet store consisted of things like sunflower seeds, dried fruit, etc. etc. That's not all I fed them, though. Sometimes, in place of that, I would give them something healthier: Sliced fruit, chopped vegetables, etc. Rats will eat pretty much anything and I don't think mice are much pickier. So stray from normal food and give them a healthy treat.

okay, this could sound stupid, but how big is your mouse's cage? If it's too small the mouse may not have enough room to run around which could cause it to be obese. and on the running ball, give the mouse time, they'll finally want to go somewhere and will be forced to move.

i have a guinea pig thats also obese lol but tehy do get pretty fat for winter but i mean if you dont feel comfortable with your mouse take it to the vet

it could be pregent, lol. idk, take her/him to the vet, lol. sorry i keep saying lol but i just cant get the picture of a really really big mouse out of my head. no offense meant at all, i promise, but yah i hope that you figure it out!

ok mouse. funny but ok. i dont think you can do anything. i use to have rats and id just let them run around like in a box or in an empy room. just let them roam and have fun. thats waht i did

Well, if you have the money, take it to a vet. But, if you can't, try and see if there are any weightloss foods at the pet store (like they have weightloss formulas for cats and dogs). Good luck!

If you have money to spend, take it to the vet. Ask them to help. They will know better than any flakey teenager looking to give shitty advice to other flakey people.
If you are poor, save your mouse the stress. If you love it, put it out of its misery.
My personal favorite is wrapping it in a plastic bag and accidentally placing it under the front wheel of your car.
