Dry skin

Question Posted Sunday December 5 2004, 10:43 pm

Lately I've noticed that my feet are very calloused and dry. I took a pumice stone to the callouses and it worked pretty good. However, the wrinkles on my heels are white...like they are cracking. If you feel them, they are smooth. Any idea what this is? I've soaked and scrubbed and as far as I know it's dry skin. Any ideas on how to make it go away?

To get rid of it I would use petroleum jelly every nite before you go to bed.Petroleum jelly relieves your skin of cracks and dry skin. You can find it at a walmart store ,walgreens,or target

It may not ever go away completely. The other posters seem to have the right idea: soaking, lotion, pumice, and getting advice from professionals.

I wanted to clarify something other posters have said. Vaseline will not moisturize your feet. It will seal whatever moisture is already there in. This does help in cases where the problem is mostly caused by evaporation (like with chapped lips).

There are lotions specifically designed for feet. I used to go to "health food" stores to find them, but more and more these herbal feet soaks and lotions are found in drug stores and supermarkets.

Also, if all of your skin is dry, or you also have chapped lips, you may be a little dehydrated. In which case, try drinking an extra glass of water.

Go out and by Epson Salt add about a half a cup to a foot bath of warm water. let them soak for about a 1/2 a hour. It should work it did for me.

to help with dry skin on your feet at night when you are sleeping put some lotion or vaseline on them and put socks. this helps to moisturize. ans when you get out of the shower try using some baby oil.

Soak your feet in hot water before using the pumice stone. Also, apply foot lotion (Burt's Bees brand is great) to your feet right before going to bed, put on socks over it, and let the moisture work its magic all night! I get nasty calloused hobbit feet like you wouldn't believe, so you can be assured my methods are tried and true!

use neutragena foot lotion like, 3 times a day. the stuff is super thick, and will help a lot b/c it is so thick and has so much moisture content.
