Question Posted Wednesday December 1 2004, 8:13 pm
My friend and I hatw this teacher and as a joke we made this odd screen name and sent him e-mails. It was the worst dissoin of my life. I sent one that was like "I hate your class I am so glad I am in highschool now". But my friend HATES that teacher so she sent and e-mail like" teacher you hurt me so the hammer is coming down...have fun in hell" I didn't mean for it to go this far. Now the police are in his room for a long time like every day. Thankfully I deleted that screen name! They made an anousement on the intercom about it and ever since I have been shaking and I am so scared/screwd. If I get caught it wont be for the one I sent, it will be for the one my friend sent. I was thinking of sending an e-mail to my teach saying like sorry it was only a joke but I'm not sure... help! I am so scared but I know for sure I am not going to tell any one but I need to know what to do!

Its not like shes planning to hurt your teacher. if she was then yeah u should tell someone. But as long you dont say anything you shouldnt worry. There is probably no way you can get caught. If you really feel like you need to say sorry then you should. Even if you hated that teacher it kinda went too far. hope i helped

They don't know you did this and clearing your computer temp files and stuff is a good thing to do. You need to talk to your friend and explain what Hell they have put you through with their idiocy. If it makes you feel better, go to the library or someplace you don't have to pay or sign a login and send your apology. Make sure you point out that two people were responsible for the emails. Tell the teacher you just wanted to call attention to the bad feelings they engendered in their students, and that you had no intention of any threat. If nothing happens for a while the cops will stop coming around. They just don't have the man power to keep it up. It will take longer than usual because of the school involvement. If you get out of this unscathed thank God and your good Karma. [ zapreth's advice column | Ask zapreth A Question ]

Now this has to do with you...this will eat away at you...so you can either confess..and say ti was just a stupid joke(yeah joke..put that spin on it) or not.
But..listen to me..you are going to have teachers you do not like all your education life. that is a fact..and guess waht..you will have people you do not like either. So you are gonna have to swallow those feelsing and just fake bieng nice.
Alin75 answered Wednesday December 1 2004, 9:37 pm: Well first thing you need to do is to erase any trace from your computer. Every computer keeps track of the stuff you view, write, send etc. ALL your deleted stuff can be recovered if you dont despose of it properly. So this is what you do, you download this program called CyberScrub (maybe in 2 words). Then you install it (free 30 day trial) and go to options. Select one of the high security options that prevent software and hardware recovery of your deleted content and then erase your traces (web traces, deleted content etc).
Cant guarantee that your problems will be over but it will be much harder for them to make a case. [ Alin75's advice column | Ask Alin75 A Question ]
adviceguy answered Wednesday December 1 2004, 9:35 pm: It seems to me that you are feeling extrememly guilty for what you did. I admire you for that fact and I also admire the fact that you deleted your email.
Though you made a mistake you can't be held responsible for a death threat that you did not write. I don't know why you think you will be in trouble for the email your friend sent?
I suggest that you completly remove yourself for any situations that may involve you getting in any more trouble. As for now, my advice to you is don't go looking for trouble. I won't suggest telling everyone you sent an email because it won't be easy getting yourself out of the mess.
For the time being, keep everything you know to yourself and try to remember the guilt you feel next time you want to participate in events you know are wrong. You made a mistake but its not the end of the world.
russianspy1234 answered Wednesday December 1 2004, 9:34 pm: well if you do get caught rat your friend out, i know it sounds bad but why should you take the fall for something you both did? chances are they wont be able to track the email and yeah you wouldnt get in much trouble unless you sent death threats and such. Sherry answered Wednesday December 1 2004, 9:30 pm: You should both email him. They'll track the email and find your IP address or something..they have ways of finding out. You both will probably get in trouble but its nnot like you'll be in jail for 20 years. The worst that could be done is a lot of community service hours. So you should both email him.
