What should i do?
um hey one of my friends is having a party at this place where our friends go for dances. i love going there, but (the dances are held twice a month) i have no beat and no rythem and usually i dont dance because im afraid people will laugh at my poor skills. i also dont know what to wear. im pretty much broke and my mom is pretty srict about what i wear. if anyone could help me. that would be great! thanx!

Well, you might just think I'm saying this becuase of what I'm about to say but I'm somewhat of a hip~hop dancer. And I just dance now and don't worry (either becuase I was told I dance good no need to be shy) or becuase of one of my bestfriends gave me good advice as well she said "Don't think about what other ppl* think of how you dance. Just dance." So I took that and got better by dancing in front of ppl* and them givin* me advice by saying you can do this instead of that and stuff like that. And you should wear something somewhat hott* and since your broke something that you already have possesion over. But make sure its appropiate for your mom. I'm sure all moms wouldn't wanna* see their daughters dressing like sluts. But yeah just make sure you show off your *Low* dance skills and don't worry too much about what ppl* think because if your one of those girls that worries about what ppl* think about them then I honestly don't know how your gonna* make it through life. Well. Don't be afraid of what people will think, just get out there and do what everyone else is doing. Seriously, watch your friends dance and then go and join in. you'll pick it up fine. As for clothing, wear a skirt or some jeans with a cute top and whatever shoes match.

'omg guys idn how to dance.. you have to teach me" l0l.. and trust me.. it will be so much more fun!! l0l.. i did that before and like.. everyone was teacheing me.. and it was a lot of fun!! and mai mum is strict on what i wear too... so i would wear like.. an off the shoulder shirt.. and a pair of cute jeans.. and if she doesnt let you wear that.. then get like.. a small t*shrt from american eagle and wear it.. their shrts are so0 cuute!!! hope i helped!!!

Okay. Well you can go to a store called Bonnie Jeans. There are those pants that are like So-Lows but they are called So-Nikki's there. There really cheap and you'll loook great. Also you can find like a zip up sweatshirt there that will look cute! xx33

ok well just go and have fun. dont be afraid if people laugh at you...just tell them at least i'm out there having fun. dont' not just go also because of your clothes. just wear something that you wear to school or something kinda nice, but not to dressed up. like a pair of jeans and a nice shirt. it will make your night worthwhile, and i'm sure that nobody will laugh at you, and if they do just laugh with them...and say yep thats right i have no rhythem but o well. hope you have fun!

Parties don't usually have a dresscode, and if the people there are your friends they wont care what you wear! But if you really wanna get a smashing outfit, try saving up your allowence ( if you get one) or save a dollar or two from lunch money every week, or whatever you can scrounge up and in no time you'll have at least enough to buy a cute shirt or skirt or maybe even both. Shop at some thrifty department stores, although it sounds kinda lame, but there are some of THE COOLEST things if you really look. No joke. I shop at thrift stores ALL THE TIME because it's really cheap, and a great bargin, because you get MORE than what you pay for. As for the rythm thing. Pshhh.. wait untill a slow song, and ask a hottie to dance. While everyone else is shakin their bootys out on the dance floor, strike up a conversation with someone who is also standing alone. Chances are they're sitting that dance out for the same reason you are ;-)

what to wear: maybe you could go to a cheapo store sometimes they have really cute stuff! or you could borrow some clothes from your friends
dancing: dont worry about it! no one really cares! if youre still uncomfortable get some of your other friends that dont like to dance and find something else fun to do!

hey! people dont usually make fun of others because of the way they dance. i say that you should go, otherwise you might regret not going. just try to do simple moves and follow the others. i cant dance either, and i went to the dances at my school and no one made fun of me, or at least not to my face. just move to the music and let yourself flow. for the clothes. you could wear layers, thats "in" right now, and it covers up, so i guess your mom would be let you wear that. otherwise you could wear jeans with a cute shirt. if you're the skirt type, then where that with a cute sweater. that always looks great and fashionable. you could also wear a nice scarf around your neck which would make the outfit "complete". well hope this helped, have fun! peace and love!

I've never seen anyone make fun of the way someone else dances at those kinds of places. (Unless they were intentionally looking stupid.) Dance like no one is watching. You may be better than you think. And even if you're not, practice makes perfect, you know?
