is it possible?

Question Posted Sunday November 7 2004, 9:59 am

Everone says that 'puppy love' is just when younger people say they're in love but 'real' love is proper love. So is it possible for a 13 year old to be in real love?

I don't think that love has anything to do with age, BUT, it is very unlikely that a thirteen year old will be able to experience true love. True love would be if you(or whoever) could seriously see themselves being together for the rest of their lives. You can't really know this feeling unless you've been with a person intimately((no, not sex...just togetherness)).

definitely. a lot of people don't think it's probable, but it's definitely possible. you're never too young to be in love, just too young to be able to deal with the consequences.

best of luck

Mandee answered Sunday November 7 2004, 12:35 pm:
Well, I have said this before but to me I believe it can happen at any age. If you're in "real love" you would know it, trust me. Puppy love can mean you think that you're really in love with this guy but you don't know if he is, and sometimes you question if you're in love, but tell people any. I think it is possible for a thirteen year old to be in love, but chances are slim.

Hannah answered Sunday November 7 2004, 12:30 pm:
Hey girl,

I don't know. I have never been in 'love' but I think it is possible to be in 'real' love at 13. I define love by imagining yourself without that someone and realizing that your life would be misreable without them. When you look at them, you can imagine the rest of your life with them. That is what I think 'real' love is. And the reason why adults think us teens only feel puppy love instead of true love is because they don't think that we could possibly imagine our lives without our special someone. I don't think they think that we can have strong feelings like they do for their special someone. So to answer your question, yes. I think anything is possible.

~I hope I helped~

I dont really believe that, because middle schoolers always go out with somebody and five minutes later say I LOVE YOU and then break up. You can believe it...but i need to know more about you. Like how long you've been goin out with the person and stuff like that. You can belive what you want...just follow your heart.

It is possibly for a 13 year old to be in real love, but anything is possible, doesn't mean that it is likely to happen. In fact, you may not realize that it is "true" love for some time after you are with that person. 13 year olds often do not have the maturity or experience to know what true love really is. It is ot very oftent hat you find a married couple that has been together since their early teens.

But don't let any of that prevent you from enjoying a romantic relationship with someone. Life is to be lived, don't be pressured by trying to find your true love because it'll come eventually.

YES! It depends on your definition of love, though. For me, love is DEEP care and affection. Here's the catch: love never ends. True love never ends. It keeps going. It does not fail. It keeps going even through the tough times.

Of course. Puppy love doesnt actually mean for younger people. It is just the love you have for someone when you start out a relationship. Hope I helped :-)

Puppy love is not just younger people saying they're in love. You can be 30 years old and have puppy love.

Sure it's possible for a 13 year old to be in real love. But, in my opinion, you will never really know if it is real love until you get more experiences in life. You don't have anything to compare it to right now.

You just shouldn't throw the word around like a lot of young people do. It's a very strong emotion and you can't be in love with every cute boy or girl that you see. You need to figure out the difference between a "crush" and "lust" and actual, real love. And you have a long time to figure that out, so you don't need to hurry up and figure it out tomorrow.
