I have always heard that if your wrapper of a Tootsie Roll Pop has the indian shooting a star you can send it in to get a free Tootsie Pop. Is this actually true, and if so who do you send it to?
aNgeLxfOrEvEr answered Monday November 1 2004, 7:35 pm: Yeah, I thought that was true too awhile ago, but I just looked it up. They said about 30% of the wrappers have the indian shooting (which, in my opinion, is way too many for a contest). And the website also said that it was just a rumor, legend, etc.
xoMarisox answered Monday November 1 2004, 7:20 pm: Sorry, I never heard of that, so I guess my answer would be no. Sorry, I didn't help that much anc it may be worong.

storageanddisposal answered Monday November 1 2004, 5:51 pm: I'd just like to say that this is a good question. MFS aleady answered, so it's pointless for me to repeat. I'll just say that it's better than the typical, mundane relationship crap that a lot of people have asked in the past. [ storageanddisposal's advice column | Ask storageanddisposal A Question ]
Laura answered Monday November 1 2004, 4:35 pm: Yes, I've heard all you have to do is take it to the place you bought it and they'll give you a free one. And actually, it's not THAT common.
MFS answered Monday November 1 2004, 3:48 pm: NO!!!
This is an urban legend. Not true at all.
[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

Do a little digging in Google and you find this out very easily.
The article linked said that some grocers will offer a free one if you have this logo, but they are not doing that as part of any offer from the Tootsie Roll company - in fact, it lists that about 1/3 of ALL TOOTSIE ROLLS have that logo - that'd be a very bad contest as damn near everyone would be getting free tootsie pops.
