Good question. If you can't break it to him on your own, just tell him that you're not interested anymore but can you still be friends? And he'll probably get annoyed because he thought you would be an easy lay and you weren't and all this time pretending to like you so that he could get lucky was in VAIN!!

Ok, if he knew that you liked him before and he still thinks you do, you need to talk to him about it. Tell him you don't feel the same way but maybe you could be friends. If he didn't know you liked him just tell him that you don't like him that way. Either way, you need to talk to him about it so he doesn't get his hopes up over something that isn't going to happen.
