Toilet paper catMy cat has a bad habbit of tearing up the toilet paper rolls. I have tried putting the rolls on backwards so the paper won't roll off when she plays with it, but she is still tearing it up good. I end up thowing away 1/4 of the roll when I go into the bathroom. What can I do to prevent my cat from doing this?

Close the bathroom door? hehe, maybe you should just take it off the roll and learn to keep it on the back of the toilet. You may also thing about taking the dispenser out and moving it up higher where she might not be able to reach, if the hardware isn't too complex. It's USUALLY just a couple of screws, but not always.

close the bathroom door and move the litter box into a different room and get an oder thing for it

Since her litter box is in there, move her litter box to another room and keep the bathroom door shut.

Definatally get that litter box out of the bathroom first, thats not good for your bathroom stench, Move it into a closet that doesnt have anything in it, or have the cats have a little room for tha cats, Just get the litter box out of there, close the door and keep it closed

I have the same problem. Had, anyway. Keep the toilet paper under a weighted box on the floor next to the toilet...just heavy enough so the cat probably won't bother to move it.

haha..my cat used to do the same thing. until we got a higher toilet paper holder thingy. you should try it! give your cat some yarn or something. my cat loves to play with paper balls. *Bethers*

DON'T get your cat declawed. That is a very inhumane way to get rid of a behavioral problem. Declawing is basically like taking off the tips of all of your fingers. It's quite painful and dangerous for the cat.
Plus it probably would not stop the cat from screwing up toilet paper roll. Usually a Vet will not declaw the back claws of a cat, so she could still use those to tear up the toilet paper.
The key in this case is to keep her away from her source of terror: ie. the toilet paper. That doesn't mean lock her out of the bathroom, that means making sure she can't get to the toilet paper. Get a cover for it as Moop has said.
It could be that she needs some more toys to play with. If she is occupied with a few fluffy toys that she is allowed to tear up, then she might not go for the toilet paper. Also rub some cat nip on her scratching post. And hang a few extra toys off of it for her to have fun with.

 1. Keep her nails trimmed. You should be trimming them (with an ordinary pair of clippers or a fancy cat-clipping device, available at the local pet store) at least once every two weeks. This minimizes her need to scratch off the outer shell of the nail. However, she will still inevitably scratch if you have other cats in the house to show ownership.

 2. Get a cover for the toilet paper. You can find these at pet stores as well as Home Depot or your local small business that sells home improvement items.

Try taking to litter box out of the bathroom and put it somewhere else..and then close the door..If you dont have anywhere to put the litter box get your cat declawed maybe..?

 close the dooor

or squirt him with a squirt gun whenever she does it. this will teach her that something bad will happen if she tears up the toilet paper.

well, you can always declaw him/her, which is probably not a fun one for the cat :-(... try getting him/her a scratching post, if that doesnt even work, it may be a pain in the butt but put all the toilet paper rolls on those dispensers that are closed, they have them, they stand instead of being attatched to the wall, well most, and they have a cover on them. Try looking in home depot or home goods or something. GL!!!
