what am i!?
my mother and her whole family are white. however my father is half & half..(black/white)
..everyone in his family is white, except for his father.(my grandad) so..what am i? half/half? or just white? and if any1 knows, what percentage of each would i be? :) ty!

Well, I think the first thing you need to do is pick up a math book and go to class once in a while. This is the sort of thing that you'll learn once you hit fourth grade.
Think of it this way.
Mum = 2 halves white.
Dad = 1 half white, 1 half black.
2 + 2 = 4
You are one quarter black and three quarters white.

okay you are alwasy half of what your parents are. So if your mom is 100% white, you take 50% from her, and your dad is 50% black, and 50% white, so you take 25% black form him and 25% white from him. which mean all together you are 75% white and 25% black, which equals 100% YOU! :)

well because 50% is your father's genes in you, your father from what you've said is 50% black, 50% white. that makes you 75% white and 25% black. Those are just math percentages, your heritage could be completely different! ask your family members =] -ask_anything

Honestly I agree with MFS, I can tell that you want to know what you are but really you just have mixed blood. Me? I have Irish, Scottish, German, English, I have more but Thats all I can think of. My mother says I'm what you call a pure american. I have a bit of everything and personaly I'm proud of all of it. I respect you for wanting to know what you are but your you.

really now way to determine from that. you might have gotten all of his white chromosomes and be all white or you might have gotten all of his black chromosomes and be half and half. since you knowing if you are a boy or girl would affect it slightly. anyways id average it out and put you at about 25% black a little more if you are a guy a little less if you are a girl.

you are 25% black and 75% white. since your mom is all white that's already 50% of you and since your dad is half black and half white that's 50% black and 50% white of him so if you divide that in half to get you there is 25% black and 25% white from your dad and add all that up you get 75% white and 25% black hope i helped!

there are actually these old tables that describe things like Mulato, Mestizo (sic?), Creole, etc...
However, those descriptions and definitions are considered not only antiquated, but no longer socially acceptable.
Essentially, you are who you are. You have mixed heritage. White, black... who cares? I don't. We're all people. Skin color doesn't mean shit.
