I have all different kinds of friends in such, but i hang out with 2 of them more. Im not a girly girl( and im not a lesbian) i hate wearing skirts and dresses and i really dont lyk really preppy people tha wear houchie skirts and a half a shirt, but maybe tha's juss some of the girls that go to my school. I just don't understand why people wear that stuff when you know its unconfortable. Why wear high heels to school them you could be confortable. THey only dress like that to get guys attention. I don't like cheerleaders either they annoy me. I'm kinda skater and like to do things that girls normally don't do or arent that good at. Me n my best friend r crazy at those kinda things and fit in real easily with the guy crowd. Every place that i go i always get mean looks from preppy girls cuz i don't dress lyk a brittany spears wannabe. Why do you think people corner me cuz im skater and not a barbie doll?

I was totally like this in school. I hated cookie cutters as I called them. I focused more on school and having my own thing (although that's pretty laughable because my friends we were too but just totally different from the prep norm). People are superficial. Period. So they think all of that uncomfortable crap is important. I think it is more appropriate to look nice for particular situations than just everyday. Then you get attention when you do decide to don a dress. And its really fun to have guy friends because you can ask them all of those "guy" questions when the time comes. Forget about it. Just be you.

Hey!..Well i think its awesome that u are how u want to be...Lots of teenagers these days change becuz of what others are doing..so keep that up! Also i think that maybe u should be a little bit openminded and realize that there are going to be the barbiegirl type people out there..but there nice to u just have to give them a chance and not judge them before u get to kno them. They are probably judging u before they kno u too...: thats just the way some girls are these days and we have to live with it, Dont let it get to u! The people that corner you are just afraid of different/the unfamiliar. I've had that problem too - I don't have a set style. I'm known for wearing like, all black, spikes and chains one day and a pink shirt with a khaki skirt and heels the next.
People that challenge you are most likely threatened by you, and you can't really do anything about it. You've just gotta ignore what they say and what they do and know that you're an individual, and you're better than them.
I mean, they're too afraid to branch out on their own. You're a few steps ahead. Don't let it bother you.

They're jealous that you can be so comfortable w/ just being comfortable with who you are. They feel that in order to get peopel to like them, they have to wear high heels, skirts, etc...that's why when they see you, they don't understand how you can have friends when you don't dress like everybody else....well, something similar to that at least. THese people won't admit that is what they're really thinking..but deep down, it's true.

Because your just like i am haha you just described me haha. But yeah they look at me funny because im a threat to them because scince there is more people like us then there is them. Plus its because they just want to make them selves feel good about putting others down or at least try. Because they want to do all that stuff but they cant so they put others down. Plus most the guys hang with us because we are one of the guys not just there girl friend. And they want that but they cant have it because there skanky bitches and we arnt. Hello!! they're jealous of you girl!..I dont like to act "preppy" either...but my mom has a stupid thing over "gothic" ppl..and wont even let me bc a sk8r...grr its annoys me so much..then again my oldest sister is like a prep or whatever..she wears dresses to school almost everyday..the only time she doesnt wear then is in the winter..then again..I HATE CHEERLEADING as well..they act a bit gay sometimes..with the stupid "RAH! RAH!! GO GO!! RAH!!! YIPPY!!" shit..lol...they only do it to get guys attention..well pooh on them! lol..I have a descent amount of cool guy friends..and that stuff... then again..this one girl in my class always asks me why I dress like a guy sometimes..and I was about to slap her..and she was one of those so called *cheerleaders*..blah!!..lol..-hope I helped

yea i don't like skirts and dresses. THE ONLY COMPROMISE I MAKE IS WIT SKORTS! but i like havin sweatpants and jeans on. they are probably just jealous that they have to work SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hard to get the guys attention but all u have to do is strike up a conversation and they instantly talk to u. if they give u a dirty look just give them a dirty look back. The first thing you should stop doing is labelling people. Are you a soup can? I don't think you are. Labels are for soup cans. Now after you forget labelling people barbies, preps, and skaters, you will hopefully remeber that everybody is an individual. I don't dress in skimpy clothes either. But my best friend does, and she is so far from girly. If you're nice to everyone, then they'll be nice to you too. Start being nice to EVERYONE. And don't label people. Be confident, and be nice to all, and whoever isn't nice back, well tough shit for them. And some of those girls might dislike you because you get to hangout with guys more, so if you want, you can maybe invite the preppy or whatever girls to hang out with you and your guy friends and your best friend. Or just start being nice to them. Say hi in the halls, or just smile when they make a rude comment. Be the bigger person! I respect how you say you don't like dressing like a houchie, and I understand how you feel about getting mean looks. You say you don't understand why some girls dress like that, well its because that THEY find that kind of outfit comfortable, or just because a lot of girls like to dress like that for girl power or whatever and to get guys attention. Like it or not, most girls first priorities are guys. Which is pretty sad sometimes. But you stay strong, dress how you like, and just ignore those girls or smile at them and wave when their mean to you!
