bRuNeTtExdUdEtTe answered Monday August 23 2004, 2:47 pm: it takes a LONG time for people to start asking questions..i thought that too, but now people are leaving me some. Just make sure you go to the give advice page and answer as many questions as you can to get noticed [ bRuNeTtExdUdEtTe's advice column | Ask bRuNeTtExdUdEtTe A Question ]

AndrewBennett answered Monday August 23 2004, 3:25 am: Be careful what you wish for! Right now you might be upset that you aren't getting questions in your inbox, but keep this in mind... all the questions you answer now you can pretty much pick and choose based on what your knowledge is and what you feel like answering. When they are in your inbox, they are meant for YOU, so you pretty much HAVE to answer all of them.
Now right now I'm like you, I'm new here, getting few in my inbox, but if they start piling up all of a sudden and people are trusting me for a good solid answer, it may end up being stressful. [ AndrewBennett's advice column | Ask AndrewBennett A Question ]
Sunshine answered Monday August 23 2004, 2:54 am: I started on the same day as you, and so far I've had 2 questions in my inbox. I think you should keep answering questions, and if you give good advice, eventually more people will drop questions in your inbox. Just be patient. Siren_Cytherea answered Sunday August 22 2004, 10:55 pm: Patience is definitely a virtue. You can't force people to like your advice enough to ask you a question specifically. It took a couple of weeks for me before people started dropping questions in my inbox.
You've just gotta wait. They'll come to you if they want to.

LilMia811 answered Sunday August 22 2004, 10:28 pm: look you gotta give it time. i been a columnist since like march or april i think. and i barely get questions dropped in my inbox, and my rating isnt bad either. most people dont just ask a specific columnist, they usally ask the whole site to get a bunch of oppinions. so just keep answering the questions on the main page. and dont give up. this stuff is good for you :) [ LilMia811's advice column | Ask LilMia811 A Question ]
Sherry answered Sunday August 22 2004, 10:28 pm: I think only a few of us get lots and lots of questions. But just answer questions on the "view questions" page and you'll get noticed! [ Sherry's advice column | Ask Sherry A Question ]
selectopaque answered Sunday August 22 2004, 10:25 pm: You have to get noticed. There are plenty of other good columnists on the site, besides you. Ratings aren't an excellante way to tell if your a good columnist or not, but you should just keep giving your advice and sooner or later people will start to notice you.
If you had put your name in this question it might have been a way to get noticed, and if you add people to your favorites then they will notice you more. And they might end up adding you to their favorites so people visiting their column will notice you.
And really, it's only been a few days...
If you wait around 1-2 months then you will be able to be a moderator with those ratings. [ selectopaque's advice column | Ask selectopaque A Question ]
