how do i prevent the red razor bumps on my bikini line from coming when i shave? and how do i get a very close shave to where you cant even tell there is hair there? i want it all gone but everytime i shave it just turns red and gets razor burn.

Ryan answered Wednesday August 18 2004, 3:51 am: try a different razor....maybe the shaving cream you are using irritates your skin. Try waxing or the hair removal lotion. [ Ryan's advice column | Ask Ryan A Question ]
xcry4noguyx answered Wednesday August 18 2004, 3:47 am: Make sure you don't dry shave, use a GOOD razor, not one of those dollar ones. The cheap razors are always dull and never work too good. Use one like the Venus or Gillette. Make sure you use WATER AND shaving cream or soap. I've seen ads for a thing called a painless hair removal kit. I think its called One Touch Finish or something, anyways you can buy it at wal-mart. I would try waxing last since it is VERY painful at the bikini line. xo_dream answered Wednesday August 18 2004, 1:59 am: Waxing or a depilitory will make it smoother than shaving, + you'll avoid razorburn. But anyways, when you shave, make sure you use a sharp razor + lots of shaving cream, and then get some aftershave gel and that should help. [ xo_dream's advice column | Ask xo_dream A Question ]
blackmamba answered Wednesday August 18 2004, 12:55 am: you should wax instead. thats the only way to get all the hair out and keep it smooth for a while. it hurts and sometimes its kinda expensive, but its a hell of a lot better then shaving and razor burn. but if you still want to keep shaving, theres a cream you can get at drugstores called bikini zone that minimizes razor burn. AngelofMusic answered Wednesday August 18 2004, 12:36 am: make sure you exfoliate before you shave. When you shave, make sure you shave down in the dirrection of the hair, not against the hair (I made that mistake) I you want a "close shave" shaveing isn't going to accomplish that. Your going to need a bikini wax. [ AngelofMusic's advice column | Ask AngelofMusic A Question ]

hErEtoheLp answered Tuesday August 17 2004, 9:21 pm: Honestly, the only way you're really going to get it to be smooth, is if you wax it. If you want it as close as you can get to smooth, get a brand new razor, use plenty of shaving cream. That will help it. Also, try shaving the other way. You don't get bumps, but it also doens't really shave it that well. [ hErEtoheLp's advice column | Ask hErEtoheLp A Question ]
