Katie answered Wednesday August 4 2004, 2:30 pm: A turtle's shell is there to protect the turtle. As far as I know there is no feeling in a turtle's shell. Your turtle does not feel a thing. He/She is okay. Don't worry about it. hope i helped! Goodluck and God Bless!
*ashlee* answered Saturday July 31 2004, 6:04 am: hey thats a good question. i used to have a box turtle who lived under my deck outside and we had to set him free cause (thats were he came from) my dog would chew on his shell and it would actually bleed. but i think that was actually the skin attatched to shell. im not sure let me look it up for you..
When injured, turtle shells bleed, and the wound likely hurts, since shells contain nerves. Damaged shells can heal, but the process is slow.
iPlayTheAirGuitar answered Saturday July 31 2004, 3:43 am: Well, it`s a hard shell. Im guessing it wont hurt. But if you do hurt it, how would you know? Do turtles make noise?
