Well, you'll want the right sort of tampon for you. For yor first few times, you'll want tampons designed for teenagers, mini-tampons, or light-flow tampons. You'll want a tampon which is plastic with a curved tip - this makes it easier to slide in.
I would try to find the entrance to your vagina with your finger first; it's easier to do it with a finger than with an unfeeling piece of plastic.
You'll push the tampon gently and steadily in, aiming for your lower back. There should be no pain. Make sure you are holding the base of the top part (the part the plunger goes into) - insert this part up to your fingertips, then push the plunger in.
Once the tampon is completely inserted, you won't be able to feel it. If you can tell it's in your vagina, chances are it's not far enough in.
Read the packet, go to some websites for good pictures, and don't be afraid to mess up a few times. Once you master inserting the tampon, don't forget to change it every few hours - you'll probably only want to wear it when your flow is heaviest, as pulling out a dry tampon feels distinctly weird (but not painful).
Good luck. ]
It doesnt matter what kind, but make sure you use the right size for the certain time of your period or it will hurt. It won't go in the wrong spot..its not that complicated. Tampax and Beyond are good brands. Hope I helped! :)

Ok well I have the same problem. I've always been scared to use a tampon. I've tried them b4 but they just dont seem to work for me. I know it can be hard, when ur friends want to go to the pool and u cant. I've been there. I know this sounds odd, but ask ur mom for some help. I did and she really helped me. And if that doesnt work maybe u just arnt ready to use them rite now and thats fine. Because I still dont use them. *Good Luck* ]

I use tampax pearl the regular kind. Just make sure you read the directions... they help out a lot, and its not bad at all! Pads are horrible! Nothing like sitting in your own blood! :)

Main advice would be to juss be calm about it. Directions for using one are usually in the box. It's actually pretty easy. If you mess up the first time, juss try again. ]
Alright the best thing to know is, stay relaxed, and put it in as far as you can w/ out sticking your fingers up there. If you feel discomfort, it's probably because you didn't put it in far enough, or you used cardboard applicators(those always bug me =x). Good Luck! ]
ummmm ok just relax cuz it goes in easier when you relax and i use tampax pearl i just like them better. And if your still concerned i know this sounds gay but read the instructions on the box and the way u know your putting it in the right spot is if u think like 45 degree angle and right in the middle or a litle farther back. good luck it's always kinda hard the first time but after a while it gets easier i promise. ]
there is directions in the box of tampons on how to put them in. you pretty much cant put it in wrong, because it only goes one way. advice for the first time.... relax. its not that big of a deal :) ]
It's really, really hard to get in wrong. Aim towards the small of your back when you put it in. I reccomend a plastic applicator - easier to deal with.
When you get it in, you don't feel it at all. You might feel the string at first, but as long as it doesn't hurt, you're fine. If it does, push it in further.
Playtex Slimfits are good, and so are Tampax Pearl (regular). You could probaly use ones without applicators if the idea of sticking your finger in "there" doesn't bother you too much.
Hope I helped!

dont worry about wearing one. just make sure that u read all the directions and when you put it in, make sure its way up there at the beginning of the blood flow. i think that you should use, playtex gentle glide, or some junior kind. something that fits your comfortability level and your age. GOOD LUCK -PA ]
Yeah use the junior ones, like tampax lites or something. Follow the directions very carefully, even though they are fairly easy, and stay at low absorbancies for now. if you are heavy just change more frequently and wear a panty liner just in case of a leak. Good luck! :) ]
you cant really put a tampon in wrong. just make sure its in deep enough.. and when you have it in, you cant even feel that its in there ]
Try junior slims or go to www.beinggirl.com and take the quiz to find out what kind you need...
Hope I Helped
