this is an ancient story: the cows and the horses hated each other, because the horses were more beautiful. the cows resented the horses and they prayed that the pretty fairy would come down and grant them a wish. the pretty fairy came down and said what do u wish? the cows told the fairy that they wanted spots to out do the horses. the fairy gave them spots. that's y they have spots.

Not all do... but the one's that do carry a gene for spotting on the coat, which they inherated from one or both there parents (sections of non pigmented skin)...

NOW THIS IS MY KIND OF QUESTION! Lets see the magic fairy came down from earth laying each and every spot on a cow so we would know the difference from cows and bulls! No j/k. Truley I know this! A cows spots are like peoples fingerprints. No spot is the same! Come to me if you have more of those kind of questions!
