because I'm 13 and have never had a serious boyfriend or met someone I'd like to marry.
Plus getting married is not everyone's goal in life and I'm completely sure that I ever want to get married.

Well, I've never had a boyfriend where we were anywhere near being THAT serious.
I would love to get married one day, but in this day and age, I don't think that people view marriage as the necesity that it once was (like women didn't leave their parents house; until they got married). Dare I say that marriage is no longer that 'sacred' instituion in people's minds either.
A marriage consists of compromise and responsibility for another; notions that the present 'me' generation doesn't take to too well. This is probably why the divorce rate is so high.
If I were to get married anytime soon, the guy would have to be pretty darn stable financially, as I am poor, poor, poor and really wouldn't be able to contribute financially to the maintainance of a household.
And last but not least, I'm not married because no one ever asked me to marry them!

Well, for starters, this is just my first year of college. I'd like to get through at least my bachelor's degree before I get married.
For another thing, I've never had a boyfriend. This is a slight deterrent to getting married, though not in some cultures. However, I am perpetually single. It's a good life.
Someday I'll find that special guy who can love my for my psychotic little self. And on that day, the heavens will rejoice. :D

Why is getting married such an inevitable?
Some people never get married. Some people aren't allowed to get married. Does that make them any less of a happy couple?
Marriage is a personal decision and a LEGAL contract between two people. It has nothing to do with love. Marriage carries with it a lot of financial responsibilities, as well.

I think it has something to do with the fact that I'm 16. And I don't even have a boyfriend. And I have plans to go to college, get a good job, and then maybe get married.

I haven't found that special someone as of yet. Besides, right now I'm in college and my number one focus is getting an education. Once I have that, I'll be able to earn enough money to support a family.
