i feel vastly uncomfortable when people start talking about jews. not in an "oh i hate jews" sort of way. because i am, "half jewish", shall we say. its like i listen extra hard, to make sure nothing bad is said. but i never get like that when people talk about christianity ( my dads christian). its like they could trash with that, i wont care, but trash jews, perks my ears.

how do i become more comfortable with this? because it seems everywhere i turn i hear someone talking about what Hitler did to jews this, or how stupid our customs are that. it really angers me.

thank you for whatever you can give me. (link)
It angers you every time you hear someone talking about Jews, or just when it's bad?

From your question, it seems like you get mad whenever Jews as a subject comes into the conversation. I suggest you talk to your mother or other Jewish relatives and see how they deal with this. They might have the same issues.

Hey there. I started dating my best friend a while ago, you just moved here from Toronto, and he doesn't tell me a whole lot about his life back then. Anyways, we started having sex a couple of monthes ago. I'm on birth control so we don't use condoms, because we both hate them. Anyways, in october i got two infections, and was really sick for a week. I couldn't get out of bed, and i was in pain. I had an yeast infection and urinary tract infection. I went to my doctor, she gave me a lot of medicine. whatever, i got better, continued on with our way of things. Anyways, now in december, i seem to have another infection. I'm thinking it might be yeast infection but i don't know. It's different. He says he hasn't had sex before me, but with all these infection that i get, could he have, or could it be my birth control? (link)
You got really really lucky if the first week you were on the pill you had sex. Birth control pills can take a month to come to full effectiveness.

If your boyfriend won't tell you about his past, he's probably lying. Get some condoms (grow the FUCK up and use them even if you hate them) use them EVERY TIME and keep yourself from getting pregnant or dead.

Also, read the info with your birth control carefully. See that where it says "effectivness". Yeah, doesn't say 100% does it? Listen carefully, I'll say it slowly because you're obviously not getting it: YOU CAN GET PREGNANT EVEN WHEN ON BIRTH CONTROL.

Don't be a moron.

im 14/f...and the hair that i have above my upper lip has gotten really dark and noticeable...its embarassing...my mom says not to shave it, im scared to get it waxed, it hurts when you pluck it, and well is there anything else?! (link)
I used to bleach my hair, but I developed an allergic reaction to the bleach and any nair like products. I can't wax for similar reasons.

I shave my upper lip. It WILL NOT grow in thicker. It WILL NOT grow faster. Period. This is a fact of nature.

It may look a bit thicker, because you've cut off the hair at the thickest part.

I am having my 17th birthday party in like a week or so and I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for games, thing to do, etc. Here are something that might help I want the party theme to be pink and silver and the guys can wear red and grey, I have a pool table, big living room. Any ideas will help or you can tell me something about one of your good partys and I can get an idea from that? thanks and there is another problem how can I tell my mom to stay upstairs since guys are going to be there I don't know if she will trust me and I don't want her to be there cause I mean I am going to be 17 she should be able to trust me and I know that everyone will feel really uncomfortable if my mom keeps watching or checking up on us so what can I say to her ? Help and if u have any other idea, anything for a good party tell me please thanks again. (link)
Do you really think people will come dressed like you want them to?

Don't expect too much from other people. Let them come as they are, you'll get much happier guests and you won't freak out about the girl in the green dress "ruining" your party.

any quick tips for getting my dogs to go to the bathroom outside?? or is it true, you cant teach an old dog new tricks? (link)
Putting a dog's face in it and saying NO doesn't work. It teaches the dog that going near it when there is poop on the floor is bad. The only time it works, is if the dog is in the act of going, then you yell NO and make a loud noise.

Praise works best.

Ok, so I decided that instead of taking the chance having sex with just a condom that I want to go on birth control. Only problem is telling my mom I want to go to the gyno. I know I don't have to tell my parents but I would rather them knowing know then later on. I'm 18 and at college. Any good ways of saying it to them without basically saying I'm having sex? (link)
Stop being afraid of your mom. If they are paying, just tell her you think it's time you get annual checkups. If you get BC, pay for it yourself if you don't want your mom to know.

Is it rude to tell someone what they are doing is extremely rude/disgusting? For example, a friend of mine chews with her mouth open, should I tell her it drives me crazy or just let her continue? (link)
Definitely tell her, but you might find that she doesn't care.

I told a friend that it bothered me, and she said, well, tough, this is how I eat. I think she later realized that it is a nasty habit, but a very hard one to break.

Please be tactful. DO NOT stand up in the lunchroom (or wherever) and shout you're disgusting, chew with your mouth closed, stupid.

Take her aside and tell her as a friend. She'll appreciate it eventually.

I would like to get some sort of animal as a pet. The only thing is that my dad is allergic to furry animals, and my family is very busy, so we couldn't give the pet 24/7 care that often. so, what kind of pet should I get? (link)
You need a low maintenance pet like a fish. If you're not going to be around for hours at a time and the animal will be left alone, DO NOT GET A CAT OR DOG.

Imagine if everyone you knew and loved left you alone with nothing to do and no idea when they would return? Animals need attention and love all of the time.

Also, be sure you're ready to make a long-term commitment to a pet. Cats and dogs can live as long as 20 years. Fish live shorter lives, as do smaller animals like hampsters and guinea pigs, but they are still a commitment of time, money and love for years to come.

Why aren't you married yet? (link)
Why is getting married such an inevitable?

Some people never get married. Some people aren't allowed to get married. Does that make them any less of a happy couple?

Marriage is a personal decision and a LEGAL contract between two people. It has nothing to do with love. Marriage carries with it a lot of financial responsibilities, as well.

I have been talking with this guy online for over a year now. He only lives about an hour away but neither of us have met people from online so we've never met in person before. My parents are having a bonfire the weekend before Halloween and I've invited him. He's accepted the ivite but I've also arranged to meet him this weekend. I'm really nervous about it. We're really good friends right now and I guess I'm just worried that meeting in person will ruin that. The question I have is should I be worried? (link)
Bring a friend, go somewhere safe, and tell your parents where you'll be.

I love online friends!

Everybody in my school has already had like 10 boy/girl friends... I've had none. Thats right... zip, zero, zilch! They all say how great it is to be hooked up, and they always have someone to dance with at activity nite. I have nobody!

Sincerely,
BoyCrazy (link)
First of all... not 'everyone in your school' has had 10 relationships. Exaggerating like that just makes you feel worse.

I didn't date ANYONE in junior high or high school. I rarely dated in college. I had wonderful friends and a great time. Then, after college I met a wonderful man.

I asked HIM out. We've been together for two years.

It will happen.

High School boys are immature idiots for the most part, anyway.

What's this obsession we have with being hairless? Why do we thing that bare skin is so appealing? If we look at any animal, they just look disgusting without hair. Imagine shaving a cat.

What's wrong with hair, anyway? Is it just our preoccupation with youth that we shave the parts of our body that grow hair after puberty, in an effort to look pre-pubescent?

Sorry, just a rant. I guess if I want advice, it's this: How can I make people feel more comfortable about my hairy state? (link)
People are going to feel the way they feel. You have to be comfortable being hairy and choosing not to shave.

Women ALL OVER THE WORLD do not shave their body hair. It is not 'weird' or unusual to them. Americans shave... Europeans don't.

Personally, I like the way shaved legs feel. Some people don't. I think shaving under my arms is simply more hygenic and allows for better odor control. Men should shave under their arms too, but they are 'allowed' to have hairy armpits.

You're not going to change society, but if you feel confident in yourself, you'll change the way people look at you, regardless whether you shave or not.

I met a guy in a chat room....We have a lot in common and a lot of the same interests. I am 15 and he is 37...he looks way younger. I have been hanging out with him after school and at the mall. I want to date him. I am very attracted to him and he is SO nice and sweet to me. He takes me to lunch, etc. Should I get involved with him even though we have a huge age difference? I don't think it makes a difference. (link)
Not only do you need to stay away from this guy you need to tell your parents or an adult you trust (your school principal, guidance counselor or a teacher or coach you can relate to.

What this man is doing is dangerous and illegal. You're lucky you haven't gotten involved with him too deeply. The next girl might not be so lucky.

Get away and tell someone as soon as possible.
