Is there a cheap way to kill grass other than Roundup?

We need to kill approximately one half an acre of grass and weeds, and we don't care if nothing will grow back for years to come in that area really. We don't want to use gasoline or try to burn it, but we just want a cheap way to kill everything without having to spend a lot of money on Roundup, or huge black tarps to smother it. Any ideas or do we need to stick with the Roundup + black tarp method?

Do I need to buy the Sims 2 to play Open for Business expansion pack?

I want to get Sims Open for Business, but it's an expansion pack for the Sims 2. I have the original Sims but not the Sims 2. Can I just use the original Sims or do I have to buy the Sims 2 to be able to play open for business?

How can I import a shared iTunes library into my library?

I just got a new laptop for my birthday and I want to transfer all of my favorite music from my old laptop to the new one. They're both on the same network, so I shared the library from the old one. It shows the library is shared, but I can't figure out how I can import all of the songs onto my new library so that I can sync it to my iPod. Do you know of any ways that I can get these songs on my new library?

How to scan a magazine article onto a computer

I have had an article published in a glossy magazine and I want to scan it (as is) onto my computer. I, eventually, want to put it onto my website (not created yet) and allow people to see the article exactly as it appears in the magazine. Would that be a pdf file or something else? How do I do this properly?

How to get rid of ants from eating my thyme

I planted a lemon thyme 4 weeks ago in a large flower pot. I watered them a while ago and suddenly hundreds of ants climbed up to my plant and, I think, are eating it!
Please help! How do I get rid of those pests? Ants totally freak me out and I don't want them eating my thyme plant!

Charities the Jonas Brothers Change for the Children Foundation donate to

My friend and I are doing a fundraiser at our summer camp and donating all of the money to the Jonas Brothers Change for the Children foundation, but we need to know exactly what charities they donate the money to first.
I know there were the five charities for 'you decide, you donate' but I heard that's over now? So, are the Jonas Brothers still donating to those 5? Are those the only five charities they are donating money to now? Are they donating to a bunch of different ones now? Heck, are we too late to donate? Haha

Positive home pregnancy test, negative doctor pregnancy test. Am I pregnant

This happened to me while I was on the Depo Provera birth control shot. So, I was getting positive AND negative home pregnancy tests and I decided to go to the doctor. So, maybe like three weeks or so after I had the last home pregnancy test (it was positive and so was the one before it but before those two ALL of the other ones were negative) I saw the doctor and had some pregnancy tests done there. The thing is, that pregnancy test turned out to be negative!
I've been off of the depo shot for about two months now and I'm getting very faint positives when I take home pregnancy tests, but the thing is that I don't want to go BACK to the doctor with my hopes up and be let down again.
What causes false positive...

Is it illegal to lend my debit card with PIN to someone?

Recently, I asked one of my best friends to withdraw some money for me from an ATM when they went out shopping. I know I can trust this friend very much so I wasn't even slightest bit nervous about having them make the transaction at the ATM for me. After that somebody (another one of my friends) told me that it is illegal to do so.
I am aware of the risk if it is illegal, but I would like to know, in certainty, if it is really illegal.
Anyone know?

Ribs showing , going to white water with girl i like.

Well heres the problem. im a 13 year old guy who used to have a reallly skinny body but iv been working out for about 9 months and iv gained a lot more muscle mass and i look better too. But before i started working out a lot of my ribcage was sticking out, but i never really paid attention. Now since iv been working out its gotten alot better and less shows but it still sticks out. im going to WhiteWater with the girl i like and some other guys and girls too in 5 days, 6-20-09 . i wanted to know if there is anyway i can reduce the amount of rib that sticks out. And another question, i wanted to know the things NOT to do and how to be nice and friendly to her. or what i can do to get her attention. THANK YOU.

I had this camera installed on my PC but had to recover the hard drive..now nothing that i do seems to work to reinstall it. Can you help? I have WindowsXP. The autodetect doesn't detect my camera when i have it plugged into the usb port.Please help Thank you

My really good friend billy

So i have this really good friend billy.. and hes really really nice and all. But he has a lot of flaws and doesnt know how to fix em. He hooks up with like at LEAST 2 girls per day because he loves the sex and he knows its wrong and he knows that he chooses this. Hes very strong Christian as am i. But I keep thinking that when ever me and him hang out something is always wrong and he just wont be straight about it. I'm going to be a sophomore this year. Ok this is gonna be alot. I'm just sick and tired of everything. Last year my life was so hard for me. I couldn't handle it. I have been cutting since 8th grade. I haven't cut in a month though. I know its a really bad habit and I want to do it so bad but then I just can't cover it no more since its summer. My life was breaking down and I needed help so bad. I knew it. I blew off guys, like I didn't like any boy. I always have liked a guy but then last year it didn't happen. I kept wondering why. I had one boyfriend last year and he was the only guy I liked. I don't like him anymore. I got over it REALLY quickly...

So I've been "best friends" with this girl for about like 3 years now. She's SUPER clingy to me. She always needs to know where I am and who I'm with if I'm not hanging out with her. If I tell her I can't hang out with her, she'll ask why, who are you with? Anyways, she and I and another girl are all BFF's. But this girl who's super clingy, let's call her Jane. She's always talking crap about the other girl,(let's call her Sara). Jane always vents to me about Sara and how much she hates her, and yet Jane is so nice, but it's all fake to Sara's face. And Sara and I are closer, so I tell Sara what Jane says about her.

Okay, so my birthday is Tuesday, and my dad is going to be out of town. I'm going to be 15, and I realize things happen. So my parents gave my my presents today (Sunday) so that he would be here and I wouldn't have to wait. Well, I got one of those mini-laptops. I don't like it. My mom knows this and I said thank you, because it is the thought that counts. I said I like the idea, its just way to small for me, I don't like the key bored. She said she understood and would return it and i could get something I liked. Now, my question, What should I get? I have a cell phone, ipod, and camera, all good. No new ones needed. I'm looking for something electronic, I can't get a big lap top, and I have a TV, ideas?
