Is there a cheap way to kill grass other than Roundup?
Question Posted Monday June 15 2009, 2:18 am
We need to kill approximately one half an acre of grass and weeds, and we don't care if nothing will grow back for years to come in that area really. We don't want to use gasoline or try to burn it, but we just want a cheap way to kill everything without having to spend a lot of money on Roundup, or huge black tarps to smother it. Any ideas or do we need to stick with the Roundup + black tarp method?

look at the active constituants on the lable it should say '360gm/l glyphosphate present as isopropylamine salt'(depending where you live- metric or imperial)
You can buy the same thing for half the price under a different name.
But remember all of these products will only kill plants that they come in contact with, They're non residual in the soil, and they are only absorbed through the green parts of plants not roots or stems, and any seeds in the soil will still germinate and grow.
Maybe you could lend the area to someone with some sheep or a cow or horse to graze it down. [ Buddy007's advice column | Ask Buddy007 A Question ]
