okay so i am around 5'3 and i weigh around 130.. i have stomach fat and i have been doing crunches for a long time and they dont help that much.. my question is, what can i do to lose this stomach fat?
sunnyville answered Friday August 19 2005, 12:54 am: Do at least 30 situps which help flatten your stomach then run for 45 minutes. Also do 30 pushups and make your hand into a fist to help tighten your cores. Then take a big ball place it onto your stomach take your time and move up until your knees touch it then bend them but you're knees are still on top of the ball move your legs up without using your hands do 2 sets of 10.But don't do weights or use machines for pull ups or other ones to build muscle because you'll only be getting muscles instead of losing the weight remember that it's very important to have that in mind.If you want other moves just ask me. jj_u_i_c_y answered Thursday August 18 2005, 10:09 pm: well see crunches replace fat with muscle if you do enough of them. doing enough crunches can burn off fat but it wouldnt do much on losing weight because muscle weighs more than fat. so any cardio can work, sports, dancing, walking, running, jumping jacks. really anything can work for cardio as long as you stick to it for more than 5 minutes.
brunettecutie answered Thursday August 18 2005, 4:18 am: well crunches only help the upper part of your stomach. keep doin them they are really good for you. if you want to work out your lower stomack then you should do 6 inches (where you lay down completley on your back and you raise your feet above the ground 6 inches and hold them there) that really helps. also drink skim milk or 1 percent, that will help. eat alot of bananas. it helps you lose weight around your stomach. there is also something called 6 second abs you can use and it really works. ( you can get that at modells, dick sporting goods, anything like that) it has a DVD that shows you how to do it step by step. or maybe abb lounge.
Bergy413 answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 5:44 pm: Lets see. I do alot of sports and that helps alot with me burning calories. I sometimes do crunches but it also helps to run. Running helps you get in shape and also may help you burn your fat. You should also try to join some sports teams. They are really fun and help you keep in shape. I play soccer and lacrosse and thats helps me keep in shape alot. Well, I hope this advice helps. [ Bergy413's advice column | Ask Bergy413 A Question ]
wonderworld13 answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 5:16 pm: hey i kind of have the same problem i know this though dont let it put you down at all. you just got to keep trying. i know it is very hard i am right there with you but dont just do crunches try something new, like the tredmill and even if you dont have one do jumprope or even go up to your room or where ever and dance to songs for and hour it might sound stupid but it does help out and this might sound gross but it does also work up a sweat. and if you dont get into any of those things try going out for a school sport. ok i hope my advice helped out at lest a little! SexiiBabii answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 5:13 pm: I'm sorry to say it, because i don't like to do it either, but your gonna have to do aerobics... find a tape, like tae bo, or go running... something to get your heart rate up... also try and cut down on junk food (if you eat it)... It won't be fun, but it will be worth it!
Girlwithamansname answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 5:13 pm: I'm very sorry to have to tell you this but excercising the stomach muscles will not guarantee you a nice flat stomach.
The exercises WILL tone the muscles but if they are hidden by a layer of fat then it won't be at all obvious. You need to combine situps and oblique crunches with normal aerobic exercise such as running or swimming and a healthy diet.
TheKnightOwl answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 5:10 pm: Easy as pie, cut back on what you eat. Avoid sugary foods, like chocolate, switch to diet soda, keep doing your crunches, ut that does NOT really help to burn fat. All crunches will do is harden the muscles underneath the fat. So if you can manage try some fat burning exercises; running, biking, swimming laps. You want to sweat! You could try a low carb diet as well, this means little to know bread, some vegetables, no fruit, and red meat. What worked for me was one meal a day and limiting myself to one helping at dinner. I lost some fast poundage, but I also did a daily work out consisting of swimming, biking, running, and weight training. It worked for me, but I was throwing in the weight training and crunches to get buff. So stick to the calory burners, Running, biking, and swimming. Good luck.
