Wall sits help the core and thighs. However it wont help you see the muscle tone unless you have a low body fat percentage.

Loosing you love handles comes from eat less calories. Sorry but its just that simple, if you have love handles you are going to have to eat fewer calories than you currently are and workout more.

Love handles are just excessive fat that needs to be used. However if you are eating more calories than your body needs you will never burn that fat as fuel. Try a good workout routine with you eating less calories for about a month and see how things go. Must women need only about 1000-1500 calories per day this is depending on height and how active they are.

Unfortunately at lot of women are mislead into thinking that there are stomach and inner thigh fat exercises. You lose fat all over the body all at once and there is no way for you to choose where you lose it from. I know this may not be what you want to hear but its the truth.

Don't waste your time doing situps or crunches most women just want a flat stomach not ripped abs. If you cut back on your calories and stay on a workout routine long enough it will happen. Also remember to more you have to lose the quicker the results seem to appear.

Depending on your height weight and how active you are you may only be able to eat 1000-1500 daily to lose weight.

I used to weight around 55 kilos and now i weight 72!!! I drink alot of alochol so its hard to loose weight with a doctor.

Hey first how tall are you 72kilos depending on your height could be a lot of weight. If you drink a lot of alcohol you are consuming wasted calories through liquids which is killer if you are trying to lose weight.

As for as exercising there are a lot of great programs out there but first and foremost cut back on the empty calories from drinking and try doing High Intensity Interval Training which is cardio but it helps burn calories throughout the whole day not just while you are in the gym.

As far as eating you can eat what you want its just a matter of how much are you eating. you can eat pizza but have 1-2 slices instead of 4-5 and so on.

If you are looking to get abs then its going to come down to more of how much you eat versus what you eat. You have a layer of fat over your stomach so thats why you can't see your abs. All the crunches and ab work in the world are not going to get rid of the fat because you can't spot reduce fat.

Try lowering your calories by 250-500 calories per day for a week and see if there are any results. Of make sure you add in some type of workout routine or even a favorite sport like volleyball or something.

for the past couple of months i've been losing weight and i've hit a plateau. i really want to lost more weight and i tried changing up my diet but NOTHING WORKS.
i don't want to take a break from the diet because i know i'll end up quiting.

If you have hit a plateau then you have a few options in regards to continuing to lose weight. First if you have been doing the same routine you need to adjust it so that its either harder or just completely different then what you have been doing. Also try changing your routine up every two months.

Secondly you stated you have changed your diet but to what aspect. Are you actually eating less or just differnt foods. You have been losing weight so you are going to have to eat less than you needed before. If a person is 150lbs and needs 1500 calories to lose weight then when you are 120 you are probably going to need just 1250 in order to lose weight.

Lastly it could be that you are at you goal weight and your body just needs to adjust to all the weight lost that you have made. Of course without actually seeing you I can't tell if this is your situation.

I'm a skinny girl ..5'6 and weigh 118lbs and I have CELLULITE. I have it on my butt and a little on my legs. I don't understand this ..it came out of nowhere. I've always been skinny ..what can cause this? Are there any exercises to help make it less noticeable? For some reason I've heard running helps it go away a little bit. I'm not up to using any creams or getting any surgery or anything, I'm just wondering if I can make it go away at least a little bit with exercising or SOMETHING. This is the only part of my body I am not comfortable with, wish this would just go away :( (link)
Hey there dont worry yourself about CELLULITE. Almost every women has cellulite and honestly there is no way to get rid of it. You are going to have people telling you all type of things that are simply not going to work. Don't waste your time and effort only to get upset. I have seen some of the fittest women who still have cellulite. Losing here is a great article on cellulite the causing and other things...let me know if this helps.

i'm 18/f, i weigh about 150 pounds. my ideal weight is around 135, is there any specific exercises i should do to get down to the target weight? i am a little overweight.
i have love handles, and was wondering if there was a workout technique i could use to get rid of them or make them smaller.
i also have a bunch of excess tummy fat, i heard somewhere that crunches and situps werent good for it, is that true?
basically, i just want to tone up my body, and i need help with what exercises i should do...

Hey Gina,

First how tall are you? You said your ideal weight is around 135 but depending on your height that weight could be close or really far off.

To answer your first question there are NO SPECIFIC exercises. Just being more active and eating less is going to be the key. Losing weight is 80% what and how much you eat. Eat less calories is going to make the biggest difference in how you look and how fast you lose the weight.

If you want to get a killer body you need to eat less calories, and do some type of High Instensity Interval Trainin (HIIT). There are a lot of programs but here is two I like....

I you have to take pictures soon and want to lose weight quickly you are going to have to change your diet a lot. You are probably overeating not in terms of food but in actual calories. Things like soda dont fill you up but contain a lot of calories. Cut back on sports drinks and sodas and eat just 3-4 meals per day of around 350-450 calories. I know you are thinking its a bit much but unless you are a 6 foot tall woman to lose weight you are going to have to cut your calories.

hi there,

You say that you are skinny and only a size 8-10 but how tall are you? I you are gaining belly fat then you are simply eating too many calories. I dont want to say you are eating too much because it could be that the food you eat are just high in calories. Some people say its a family thing but the common thing I found in families that have a pot belly is that they all eat the same way.

Changing how much you consume will help for the most part. Trying cutting back about 250 calories per day for a week and see if your clothes look or feel different. If nothing than cut back 500 for a week.

As for as how long it takes to get a flat stomach is just depends on how dedicated you are going to be. If you uses interval training and cut your calories you will start to see the difference in 1-2 weeks. Remember the bigger you are the quicker you will see the change. If you only have a few pounds to lose then 1 or 2 pounds is going to take awhile.

Do do the normal cardio that everyone else does trying running stairs, wind sprints or even jumping rope. These really work great for burning calories but dont over train just 2-3 times per week is enough.

Okay, so my friend and I were ranting about stretchmarks to each other, and how we both have them on our theighs/she has them on her knees, as well. We were both wondering a few things:
Why do we have these, are they normal, and how can we get rid of them?

Also, we're going to the beach with some guy friends in June/July. So, we're both at average weights for our sizes, but we each have what you could call a 'muffin top', or whatever. We've each got muscle under that from doing crunches, so we're not sure what else to do to really help? We'd like to lose the lower belly fat by June or July, so what's something we could quickly do?

There is really no way to get rid of stretchmarks sadly! Most people have them because they simply were a little overweight and lost the weight too quickly causing your skin to stretch but not letting it adjust slow enough to lossing weight. This could have been when you were a baby and chubby or whenever.

As for as your muffin top you are right in that you have muscles under from doing crunches. The problem is that crunches build muscle and don't get rid of fat. In order to lose the excess fat covering your muscles you are going to have to lose body fat. Eating less calories daily is the quickest way to losing belly fat. Also doing interval training on a elliptical or treadmill will work also.

Hello im 19/f and i'm 5'6 and weigh about 145 pounds. I'm not fat but not really skinny. I hate a little bit of extra weight on my thighs and a little on my tummy. I want to start exercising but i find it hard to find motivation to do so. I also want to start eating healthier. What foods besides junk should i stay away from? At your height and weight you really aren't fat or overweight. with your height you can be about 120-140 and still pull it off depending on your build. I you want to lose your thighs and stomach its going to come down to your diet.

I recommend staying away from junk food but eating to much healthy food will cause you not lose weight also. The bottom line is how many calories are you eating and how active you are. High calorie foods are a killer on the body things like danishes and other such foods can be up to 500 calories each.

At your height and weight you probably need to eat around 1500-1800 calories to lose weight. This is not exact since some days you may eat a little more or a little less. Also try doing some interval training for cardio. This type of cardio only takes about 20 minutes and really burns calories and makes your thighs and hips look great. Also try a sprinting workout....

Okay so I'm 5'8 and 120 pounds... i'm a 32b - 25 inch waist - and 37 inch hips... i have longish legs.. prob like a 33 inseam.. I was trying to figure out what my body type is. I was thinking pear because my hips are bigger than my bust, but I was reading the description for pear and it said small shoulders (and mine are fairly large) and excess fat around the hips, butt, and thighs, which i don't have (i have fairly large bone structure which is why my hip measurement is kinda big). I don't think my breasts are big enough to be an hourglass though. So what am I?

I was also kinda curious if 37 is way too big of a hip measurement to be a model? I'm not at all interested in it but i've been told by some people that i could model and I feel like i'm a bit larger than models mainly because of my hips. (link)
You are more than likely a pear shaped body type. Remember its just a generalizing everyone into two different categories which are apple and pear shapes. A pear shape is a person who carries most of their weight around their hips waist and thighs. So if that is where most of your weight is than most likely you fit into that category also.

How that helps and as for as being to big for a model with you hip measurement it just depends on the type of modeling you want to do. At your height and weight you shouldn't really have too many problems.

I have considered skipping breakfest and lunch and only eating supper. One meal. Hi C.D. I have read everyone elses response and know that just like with everyone else different things work for different people. I have done the 5 and 6 meals per day, as well as eating once per day.

What is comes down to for you to lose weight is simply eating less. This can be done through calorie counting, meal restriction and fasting. I you can keep up with eating 5 or 6 meals that are about 300-400 calories do that.

Finding meals that are only 300 calories is tough but possible. I found it hard myself and stopped. What worked for me was eating three meals per day 4-5 days per week about 400-500 calorie which kept me around 1500-1800 calories per day. the other 2-3 days I would eat one meal of 800-1000 calories.

I don't know your height or weight which would really help so I could say about the calorie range. Here is a great article on eating one meal per day.....eat on meal


I am 18/Female, and I have 6 weeks until my cruise. I was wondering what i should eat and what I should work on at the gym exactly. I want to lose some fat on my theighs, abs and hips. I am not overweight, i just need to tighten up those areas. any ideas?

First you will never get rid of all the cellulite from your legs so don't be alarms. A great exercise for your legs and butt is sprinting. You can also try running stairs.

As for as your boobs since they are mostly fat anyway the only way to get them smaller is to simply lose weight.


I've always tried to go to the gym five times a week but it can get a little boring sometimes u know. I hate exercising in the same place and doing the same things. I just wanted to know if you can recommend any exercises that I can do at home that will get the cardio pumping without the treadmill. Thanks. I don't want to do weights at home because that's what I pay a gym membership for. However, I do use a articular weight for my arms not to bulk them up. If you dont like exercising in the same place try doing sprints or running stairs outside. These are great full body workouts that only need to be done at most 3 times per week. If you want something that you can do at home I recommend you reading this article as it has a great workout routine that can be done at home in under 20 minutes with not weights.

Hey in 19/f and I'm 5'7 and weigh 144 lbs. I want to become more in shape, tone up my legs mostly and start eating healthy. The only problem i have is that i have no motivation at all to exercise. When i get home from work i'm always too tired and have other things i need to get done around the house. Can anybody give me any encouraging words of advice to make me want to exercise? I know a lot of people who feel the same way you do. If you are to tired then you have to keep a journal of things that must get done and do them. This time include exercising as one of them. Also you may look into doing interval training as this form of exercise only takes about 20 minutes to complete a full workout. Interval training can be done on a treadmill, elliptical or outside. I suggest running stairs if you live in an apartment building or close to a track with bleachers. here is a great article with a routine Running stairs

You can also look at changing your diet since at 5'7 and 144 lbs you shouldn't have that much weight to lose. Simply making some changes in how you eat can affect you more than working out. The amount of calories you put in makes a big difference.


I want to lose 10 pounds by august 22nd. I'm going to eat really healthy. Mainly fruits and vegetables. Yogurt will be a treat. I'm going to walk 6 miles probably 4 times a week and I have a swimming pool I swim in daily. Is that possible? Should I do more?

I'm trying to target my stomach area. Is there any swimming exercises I can do that will help that?

There is really no exercise that is going to "target" your stomact area. If you are looking to lose fat quickly than look to doing some form of high interval training 2 to 3 times per week.

As for as eating goes you mainly need to which how many calories you are eating. Since I dont know your height or current weight I really cant give you a ball park number. Also try reading this article on running stairs.
