In short, Yes.
You are talking about they Hymen. This is a thin membrane that covers the vaginal opening. However, there is generally some opening, or else you couldn't have a period. It can also be ruptured through active sports, and some girls are born without one.
At any rate, you can most certainly get pregnant with or without the hymen.

I'm sure your poetry is fine. Do you think that because of everyone having liked your poetry that you began identifying your self-worth by your poetry? If so, you should take a step back and look at all the good things that you have to offer the world. Poetry is only one facet of your many gifts and abilities.
Secondly, you need to look at whether the reson you write poetry is for self-satisfaction or only for recieving praise and attention from friends. If you enjoy it, write. Just like different people like different books, different music, and different foods, people can react differently to your poetry. As long as you enjoy it and you think it's good, then it probably is.

Is it possible to become pregnant through oral sex (female giving to male) ? I was wondering since if you ingest semen isn't it possible for it to work through your body?
Also, is it possible to become pregnant if a couple is merely kissing or say fooling around and the male ejaculates into the vaginal area? They are not naked, boxers and shorts on the male and underwear on the female.
This may seem silly but I really need to know since I am having a difficult time finding alternatives to sex since I feel I am not ready for that yet. Advice would be great! (link)

As others have said, oral sex is safe as far as pregnancy goes, but you can get a variety of STDs if you are not using oral sex condoms. If he disapproves of the idea, let him know that he isn't the one putting a dick in his mouth. And, make a game of it, putting it on and everything to help increase the excitement and make it less of a problem. But, in this day and age, you should always always always practice safe sexual contact.
Kissing cannot lead to pregnancy. However, even though it is fairly unlikely, it is possible that if some semen soaks onto your underwear, you could become pregnant. It's not likely, but there IS a possibility. So be careful with that. Even if he does not ejaculate, but has some preejaculate, which he most likely will, then it can contain sperm also.
It's great that you are looking for alternatives. Just take things slow, and make sure you are careful to not let sexual excitement cloud your judgement. Have you considered taking the pill? If you are planning on being sexually active, it may be to consider that.

This is hard. I had some friends who were in the same situation. So, if she ever came up to them and asked them what they were doing, they would say "hang on, wait right here a second.." then walk off and leave.
After this happening a few times, she got the idea.
However, if you are like me, and can't be mean to anyone, you just deal with it and life goes on.

You should be proud of your culture and your background. However, that's easily said.
While some minority groups, such as gay people or whoever can hide their status when they want or need to. But, being black can't be hidden, no matter how you look at it.
I sincerely hope you aren't being subjected to ridicule or racism. No one should ever have to experience that.
Perhaps you are a little self-conscious about your race, and think it matters to a lot of people. True, it does to some, but to most people, they don't think about it.
Please let us know some more details and I'll try to give you some more specific advice.

It's very hard to feel good about yourself when you always put yourself down. Do you do this? It's very easy to think that people are always looking at you and see all of your "huge flaws", but that's not true. Everyone else thinks the same thing - that they have to act just right or else everyone will notice. They are too busy worried about themselves to worry about you!
Think quick: Name 10 bad things about yourself.
Name 10 good things about yourself.
It is soo much easier to name the bad things.
When you find yourself saying negative things, you have to stop yourself. This is a pretty cool way of doing it, and it works well:
- When a bad thought about yourself sneaks into your head, say (out loud, as long as you aren't in public) "STOP."
- If the thought is still coming, say "STOP!" louder. SCREAM IT if you have to, but don't give in and refuse to let the negative thoughts enter your head.
- If you do this a lot, you will start to get better at stopping yourself. Then, you can start saying "stop" in your head silently. Start doing that, and eventually, you can effortlessly stop the negative thoughts without saying anything.
It sounds rediculous and silly, but it's proven through research. Try it! What have you got to lose?

Well, okay. I have been wanting to learn how to play guitar for a year now, but I am afraid to bring it up to my parents. I have done it before, and my mom was all for the idea but then she tells me things like "Oh, if you start your own band with all girls they are gonna think you're lesbian" or "it's not your talent", or "you've never shown any interest". WEll now I am interested, and it is all I think about. I don't want to be famous, and I at least would have something to do after school. (My mom is upset that I don't do any activities). My birthday is approaching and my friend knows drums and my other friend just got a bass guitar, but I am the one they are waiting for. They know I really want this. But my mom seems to be scared of drugs or something and I am frustrated of waiting. My question is should I just go ahead and ask or secretly get a guitar and teach myself, or forget the whole thing..HELP! (link)

My advice for you on this is pretty straight-forward and fairly simple:
Tell her what you told the people on this site.
Set her fears at ease. You are probably a very responsible person, and your mom knows that. She just sees these stereotypical things, and thinks that the guitar will be the gateway that she will lose her daughter through. Look her in the eyes and reassure her that this is something you want to do to have fun and learn a musical instrument. It will not be the beginning of drunken, drug-laden parties.

I'm late getting on this bandwagon, but you've been given some good advice: This is NOT a good situation.
This man is a pedophile. He's testing the waters with you. He knows you care a lot about him, so he is starting to find out where you really stand and what he can do. By mentioning "Oh, I had this weird dream about you..." he is bringing up the idea of sex with you to see how you react to such an idea.
I know that hearing such a thing, even if you do care for him, is quite freaky. It can make you feel very uncomforable, violated, and worried. You probably don't want to tell anyone because you aren't sure that it's really that big of a deal, and it's embarrassing. You probably think that your mom will either think that you are making it up or that you got yourself into this situation, and that somehow it is your fault. You're scared he will do something to you if you tick him off.
All that is understandable. You should talk to a trusted adult about this. No way should you let this go. Even if you are able to convince him to forget about you, what about the next trusting girl that comes his way? Will she be as strong?
It is very unlikely that this man will harm you. He knows that he takes major risks while "grooming" his next victim. At each step, he's going to be testing the waters and seeing if it's ok to continue. He is a coward. He may be an adult, but he is afraid of you telling anyone.

There are limited options, and all take a little work.
Are you doing any college stuff? If so, it's actually quite easy to find guys who are willing to go out, classmates. Or, in your place of work?
If not, the next easiest option is church. Try a big church with a large 'singles' group. Meet people your age for friendships, and possibly dates.
Church not your thing? How about going with a couple of girl friends to an 18 and over club? These are pretty much everywhere, and you can have a great time dancing and meeting new people. How much real date material you will find is a little bit harder to evaluate.
Not a clubber? Perhaps the thing to do would be to look at some organizations and support groups, check out your local paper for a listing of what's available.
Last resort: personals or the internet. You never know...
Hopefully some other people will answer with some good suggestions.

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with getting a little extra help with a difficult subject. The idea of having to work out an algebra problem can make adults run quicker than a child about to step in a busy street. So, don't be ashamed of having someone help you.
But, it seems that there is a lot more going on than math problems. Just remember that grandma's may not always know what goes on in the world, and can be difficult at times, but they always want the best.

I've been leaving my window open at night because the room is so hot, and some time within the last month I have developed an odd crawling, painful sensation in my stomach. At night I have interesting dreams about creatures laughing and poking me with sticks and blue lightning coming from the ground. I am beginning to think I'm in serious trouble.
The thing I'm wondering most is, am i carrying a demon child or an alien one? I would much rather have a demon child, because with aliens, who knows? I find demons a bit more amiable and predictable. A friend of mine was experiencing some of the same sensations. She did end up being pregnant, and one night, she had her "child" in her own bed with her parents by her side. Her father hushed her mother's screams as he dug the perfect hole to bury the beast and any memories of it thereafter in the backyard.
So, yes, it's a demon.

There's nothing wrong with how you feel. Not sure how old you are, but when you are a teen there are lots of hormones and changes going on, as I'm sure you know. Well, those can be so powerful that they can influence who you see sexually.
You don't have to freak out that you might be gay, in case that is a fear of yours. I think, and it's been said in answers to other questions, that people are very quick to try to fit others and themselves into pre-made boxes.
Just enjoy your friendship for what it's worth. If you feel that it's going farther than friendship, and you are cool with it, then do what you feel is right. Feel good about yourself and the unique friendship that you have and just let whatever happens happen.
