First of all, at dinner be confident but not cocky. Smile and say somthing like, "So, do you reward all your pretty, young, top sales girls like this?" and see how he replies.
As far as your friend, just introduce him to the guy you like (your manager) as a "friend". That should get the point across. He should be fine with that. If he's not, and he shows any sign of jealousy this early in a relationship, it's not a good sign. It may mean he's not mature enough and there could definatly be problems at work should you pursue the relationship.
Personally, if I'm interested in a woman, I will just open up and tell her. I might say something like, "You have such a great personality, I am looking forward to getting to know you better"
Then I'll comment on any other things I notice like, I love the way your eyes sparkle when you laugh. Things like that. He may be less open though, especially since there is a work relationship at risk. You just have to watch him and go by instinct, or you could just come right out an ask him. Nothing wrong with saying at the end of the evening. I had a good time, Is this really a reward for my sales, or would you like to do this again? Being open and mature is the best way to handle something like this.

I currently work in retail in a mall, I am 19 yrs old, my manager that is 26. There are a lot of things I am troubled about, I don't know how he feels about me.
I am the top sales associate at the store. One day, he told me if I sell $3000 worth of sales (which is IMPOSSIBLE in our store) in one day, he'll take me out for dinner. Later on, he changed the budget to $1500, which is EXTREMELY difficult still. He said he would take me to a very prestigeous/expensive restaurant, the 360 restaurant on top of the CN tower (I am from Toronto Canada by the way). In MY opinion, this is a place where all my friends in relationships go to on special occasions.
Well, an hour before the day ended, I was FAR from the $1500 budget, so he said he cant take me to dinner if i dont make the sales, he'll only take me to Diary Queen, and I made a very disapproving/disappointed *awwww* jokingly, then he said fine.... i'll take you to DQ and a good walk on the beach.
I ended up making $1500 that night!!!!! when he was checking my sales, he had his hand covering his mouth and kinda laughing. He looked nervous, scared, excited, (according to everyone else that was there).
we are going this weekend, first he tells me to dress glamourous!... later on, he said glamourous usually means romantic, flowers and all that, so he told me to dress *fun*.... then i asked *are you gonna get me flowers?!?!?!* jokingly of course. Then he said... *c'monnn christine*... so i told him im only joking..... but he ends up asking me what my fav flower is...
I am extremely confused about this situation. He is extremely good looking, and has a lot of *girl* friends.... but I dont THINK he takes them out to nice dinner like this.
Also at work, he offered to buy me a drink... but he said he *forgot*, but later on, he bought me a drink when we decided to go hang out with his friend and this other girl at work.... i didnt ask for the dirnk... he came outta the convenience store for me...
but just yesterday he said he REALYL wanna see the movie the LakeHouse with sandra bullock and keanu reeves, and he was gonna see it with his friend (a girl)... but she didnt end up calling him... but it SEEMED like... when we saw the advertismeent for the movie he emphasized that he wants to see it again... =/ ... im not sure if he's hinting me taht he wants to see it with me?... or he jsut wants to see it... since he was gonna see it with a *girl* friend anyways....
also... when we were with his friends hanging out.... they were talking about sum girls... and he commented and said they were pretty... >. (link)

From the way you described it, I would say he definitely is interested in you. It sounds like he's "fishing" to see if you are interested in him as well. Using a fancy dinner with him as a reward for reaching a goal is probably his way of seeing how much your interested, If it was just a sales motivation tool he would have made the "prize" something less personal, perhaps a day off or an extra sales bonus.
As far as commenting how pretty these other girls are, I don't think he was trying to make you jealous. Guys don't think like that. He was probably just making conversation.
I would be carefully though if your job is important to you. Having a relationship with a direct supervisor can bring on all sorts of issues. Especially if you aren't both mature enough to keep your personal relationship out of the work place. Also, if things don't work out it could be very awkward at work.

While he may have said it in a joking way, and definitely was flirting. He was also seeing how you answered. You were flirtatious back so if he was really interested he still is. Go ahead and flirt that's fine, but you don't what to seem too easy so throw in some teases as well to keep him on his toes. An example of a tease answer for the same question would be "we'll see if you play your cards right" or something to that nature. Flirt back but make him wonder if you really meant it. Flirting is a game, have fun with it!

well i just met this amazing guy and he and my best friend used to like be together but now they dont see each other anymore....well he has a girlfriend now but when we were in the car he started tickeling my leg and touching my hands and stuff...it didnt really bother me because i like him and all but the only thing is if my friend finds out what should i do?? and i told asked if he had a girlfriend and he said yeah but techniqully werent not because i only see her sometimes so if me and him did anything would that be like hes cheating on her with me?!?!ill rate high (link)

First of all it depends on what you mean by "if me and him did anything" What do you mean by "anything" Just remember that if he is seeing someone else and wants to see you, then who's to say that when he's seeing you he's not going to see anyone else too. If you are ok with that then fine.
Personally I believe that early dating should be just that..... Dating.
You shouldnt be tying yourself down or getting too serious with one boy. This is the time you should be "dating" different boys to see what qualities you like in a boy so that when its time to get serious and find a life partner you will know exactly what you want.

Congratulations! Guess what? You already have 6pak abs. Truth is everyone does. They are just Hiddin behind a layer of body fat.
Now. Im not saying your fat, I have no idea what your Body fat percent is, however in a female abs don't become outwardly visable unless body fat percent is below approx 12 percent.
If you want your abs to show you need to reduce your Body fat percent
Start eating small meals every 3 to 4 hours. The trick is to eat a little bit often to keep your metabolism going. Another idea is to throw in some muscle toning days with light weights or perhaps sit ups, squats, lunges and push ups. This will keep your muscles burring fat even at rest.
Also, don't expect to see results the first few days. It could take 3 to 4 weeks befor you start to see results as your body adapts to the new healthy lifestyls and starts showing you its appreciation!

okay i know this question has been asked a million times and i get the same answer: crunches, but it doesnt work so here:
i want to lose my lower stomach fat and i have tried exercises like crunches, situps and walking. what are some really good exercises or something i could do to get that lower stomach to be flat? it gets annoying because i cant wear shirts that show a little belly and such, so does anyone know anything/exercises i could do that you know will DEFINETLY work? please help because i have been trying to get my stomach to be flat but it never happens and i have waited for like months. and please dont say crunches or running, ive tried those and dont work well.. thanks ill rate high (link)

You are correct, Crunches alone will not get rid of that little pocket of fat below your belly button I think your talking about. Crunches will tighten the muscle but do nothing for the fat covering them since you cannot "spot remove" body fat. The only thing that will "Defiantly work" as you ask is a complete program of cardio exercise, weight training, and proper diet. Think of it as a 3 legged table. Take away any one of the legs and the table won't stand.
Proper nutrition- eat small healthy meals every 3 or 4 hours to keep your body from storing fat.
Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day and take a multi vitamin every day.
Cardio- Run, walk, dance.. anything to get your heart rate above 135 beats/ minuet for about 30 minuets 3 days a week Like Mon, wed, Fri.
Weight training- some form of resistance training. It doesn't have to be heavy weights, just enough to tone your muscles to burn fat.
perhaps Tues, Thurs, Sat
Sunday Rest. Yes you need a day of rest to let your body recover.
I know it may not be the magic formula you want to hear, but you asked for something that will definitely work.

Hi, I am the maid of honor for my best friends wedding on May 13th. I got a dress that was too small, but I've been woorking out and I've changed my eating habits. I can now fit the dress, but I am a little uncomfortable with the top. The dress is a halter and the area around my chest, breast, and upper back are kind of squished in. Are there any particular exercises I can do to make it fit better up there? I have less than 3 weeks to go. I've upped my cardio to about 1.25-1.5 hours a day plus weight training. I wish I could give you an answer or way to just slim the upper body, but our bodies just don't work that way. Our Bodies burn fat evenly throughout our whole body.
However, Since you have 3 weeks you can still fit into that dress. You can safely loose 2 to 3 lbs/week so go for 3 which would be a whole dress size after 3 weeks. To do this, keep up with your exercise program. However, rotate your cardio and Weight training every other day and take a rest day. You need a rest day for your body to recover.
Make sure you are drinking 6 to 8 glasses of water every day. Eat Small meals every 4 hours to keep your metabolism going so you don't go into starvation mode. These meals should be "clean" meals. each meal should include a serving of good protein like Broiled chicken breast, fish, tuna, or lean beef. Avoid processed lunch meats fast food burgers and the like. Also have a serving of complex carbohydrates such as fresh veggies.
Here is an example of my diet for a day when loosing fat, after a cycle of gaining mass.
Breakfast
1/2 cup oatmeal, Or 1 cup allbran cerial 1/2 cup skim milk
and 2 hard boiled eggs with only one yolk
Mid morning snack.
small cup of lowfat yogurt
Lunch
Tuna, turkey or chicken breast on whole wheat bread and an apple or Banana
Afternoon snack
Apple, orange or slices of melon
Dinner
6oz lean beef or Chicken breast or broiled fish
a small baked potato, sweet potato, or brown rice
and a fresh salad with a lowcal low fat dressing.
If you eat a similar diet and follow your exercise program. You will not only loose some body fat but you will also tone the muscles giving you the shape you desire to fit properly in that dress for the wedding and you'll look great!

Okay well i was talking to this guy i like yesterday,and well he knows i like him and he likes me too.So we were talking online yesterday and i asked him how his easter was and he said it was fun and he asked me how mine was and i told him,then he said one of my uncles g/f was playing with her kids and she wore tight pants and her underwear was hanging out and her boobs were flying around.And all i could say was lol uhmm o? and then he says hahaha i know but i still love you.I hate it when guys do that and talk about other girls when they know you like them and stuff i mean,its not like hes the first guy ive liked whos talked about another girl in fornt of me but still.My question is,is it okay for a guy to talk about other girls while the guy knows you like him and he says he likes you? And if it isnt why do guys do it anyway?

To answer your question directly in my opinion, No. Its not only wrong but its disrespectful. That's just the way I was brought up
That being said, most teenage boys haven't developed an understanding of respect for woman yet. Their hormones are running wild and he's probably just being open and honest with you. I wouldn't worry about it. If you ignore it it may stop eventually because he'll see it doesn't get a rise out of you. If it bothers you that much just be honest with him and find a non threatening way of telling him.

First, how long you can stay in depends on your skin tone to start. You state you've been there once before so use that as a guide. how long did you stay in for and did you burn. Some people have no problem starting at the whole 20 min (which should be the max in a 24 hour period)
Others have to start at 10 min and move up slowly. The tanning place should help you make that decision.
As far as what you wear. Like others have said it depends on if you mind the tan lines or not. It will not hurt to tan nude. Choose a tanning accelerator that's best for your skin tone. Again ask the salon for advice. There are "tinglers" that accelerate your tanning They work by bringing your blood closer to your skin and you will feel a burning during and for about an hour after tanning so be careful with those.
As far as bowling, thats fine as long as you put your cloths back on :)

My Wife bought one. It worked ok for her or the first couple weeks because prior to that she had no real previous ab training. But after that it was not good. Its not worth the money in my opinion. What works best for ab training is much cheaper. Here is part of an answer that I posted to a similar question
What has worked for me is doing crunches with weights on my ankles and a weight plate on my chest. For starters you can use a heavy book and hold it on your chest with your arms crossed over it. Use a weight heavy enough so you can only do 8 to 10 reps. do this for 3 sets twice one day ( morning and evening ) then rest them the next day. The rest day is necessary because Exercising doesn't build the muscle, it tears them down. What builds the muscle is the repairs that the body makes while resting.
This will build your outer abs. Another exercise you will want to do is called vacuums. You get on your hands and knees push all the air out of your lungs and suck your stomach in like your trying to touch your belly button to your spine. What this does is build the muscles on then Inside and creates great definition. Arnold Schwartzenegger used this religiously to create amazing definition in his abs.

Okay, I have possibly the weirdest question ever. Most people want to project their singing - I have NO problem there whatsoever.
How the hell do you project your speaking voice? I've been trying to figure it out for years. My voice has this weird pitch/quality that doesn't really project. I mean, it can carry into a big room, but if I'm somewhere loud and crowded, I feel like I'm screaming and my voice still doesn't project.
ARGH. My drama teacher worked with me on this last year, but even then I couldn't project.
This is driving me nuts. Any tips?
I've tried lowering the pitch of my voice - it's kind of a low pitch anyway...ish?
Oh, and 18/f if it matters. I'm a singer, too. You'd think that would help with this kind of thing. (link)

Berrynice is exactly right. To project, speak as if the sound is comming from your stomoch, pushing the sound out by flexing your Abs. Give it a try!

ok, at my school EVERYBODY is rich. im the complete opposide. my dad hasnt had a job for about 4 or 5 years, he finally got a job but his boss always forgets to pay him. all of the girls at my school are soo gorgeous. im not calling myself ugly, because i know im not. i just need some confidence. all the girls here are all preppy beautiful girls who wear nothing but abercrombie. see i cant afford to spend 150 bucks on a jean skirt, while all the other girls can.
there is this girl johanna. she and i are pretty close. she is one of the prettiest girls in school. all of the 6th, 8th, and 9th graders think she is soo pretty. whenever i hang out with her i feel so ugly, not to mention poor. every guy loves her, i mean why wouldnt they?
all i want to know is some tips to get the guys to like ME. and how to fit in with all of these gorgeous rich girls. i just cant think of any ways.

I really like the advice that xomegaroni gave you. She's absolutely right.
Expensive cloths do not make the person. I'm sure you've heard the saying "beauty is only skin deep" but I know that doesn't help a teen girl in a peer world. What you can take from that saying though, is what it means. Real beauty comes from the inside. What really makes a person appeal to others is a Smile and confidence about themselves without a cocky attitude. That may seem hard to you because in your age group confidence seems to come from the way others view you. However, here's some tips to help you. Work with what you have. Keep the clothes you do have clean and looking the best they can.
Second. Make some small change that will make you feel good about yourself. Perhaps a new hair style, or some new makeup. Try asking your close friend (that you say is the beautiful one) to have a game of "Make over" Then the rest is up to you! Close your eyes and imagine yourself as the most confident person you can be. Smile at everyone. If your with a group of peers, and you start to feel inadequate, Pretend in your mind you are the most popular girl in school.
The truth is People will eventually see you the way you see yourself. Change the way you see yourself and you will change the way others see you as well.

I have just been left by a girl. Im 25 6'8" 240lbs. She is 22. we've been together 6mnths. Its over. I lost her. My heart has been broken. She has cut off all comunication from me. I want to move on. More so, I have to moveon. I cant run after her anymore. I know I'll lose. Twice it has happened to me. I find a nice girl. We start courtship. Since you didn't go into any specifics about the relationships and we can't really give you any advice on what could have gone wrong, Im assuming you need to know how to deal with the loss.
Why do you feel like you were taken for a ride?
To be honest, you pretty much were. That's what dating is about, your "test driving" to see if a long term relationship is possible. If you were looking for a car and you didn't like the test drive would you stop looking at other cars?? No, You would keep looking till you find one you like. Relationships are the same thing. Let yourself learn from each relationship. Take the qualities you like in a woman and find them in another. Also, don't let your past become your future, and don't let anyone else's opinion of you become your reality. Is someone put you in a field of rocks and said under one of those rocks there is a Diamond worth a million bucks, would you turn over a couple stones and then give up?? Or would you keep turning over stones till you found the diamond??
Keep turning over stones my friend, every stone you turn over is one stone closer to the diamond!

i really like this guy! and he liked me back i think cause he always simled at me! i kinda ignored it but i still talked to him on the bus (he's in 8th grade and i'm in7th) and laughed at his jokes and we were getting along pretty good untill a friday when he sat next to me and asked me a lot of questions. i answered kinda weird i was really shocked i mean the questions where like totally normal like do you like somebody or are you good in school whatever and i only answered with yes or no and then he said im mean because of that he was like: why are u being so mean to me your not answering my questions! and then he asked: soooo do you wanna be friends? i couldnt say anything cause he got interrupted by a friend and then my busstop came so i never answered that question! but the thing is that a week later he told me he loves me and i was REALLY shocked then and i was like : uuhhmm to bad and i know that was really mean! so then we had vacation for about 2 weeks and when school started he didnt talk to me or anything and well i also ignored him but he still looed at me. then i called him and i was like:

Guys are a mystery? He's thinking the same thing about you. But, that's ok. Your both learning social skills in dealing with the opposite sex.
Here is what hes thinking.... First, you were a bit shy so he took that as you didn't like him. Then he got the nerve to tell you he "loved you" (ok big mistake on his part but hey, he's learning too) you got nervous and shot down his confidence again. When you called him, he's thinking "Umm what's with her? is she going to slap me down again? He obviously likes you since he keeps looking at you, but hes scared to death of getting rejected again.
What I suggest is when you see him just smile and say hi. When he's comfortable with you again, talk to him. If he or any other guy you like says "I love you" or something similar in the future, rather than shoot them down, say something like
"Aww I'm flattered, You seem like a nice guy, lets be friends and see where it goes" The trick with people is to be honest while building them up, rather than putting them down.

I'm 5'8, 158 pounds, 15 years old, not active at all.
On this coming monday, im starting a diet which will hopefully help me lose 1 or 2 pounds a week, but I need to know if it will work. Here is my daily plan:
Breakfast: Honey bunches of oats cereal, 1% Milk
Lunch: Fruit salad, water
Supper: Anything my mom makes (healthy)
I will also be running on the treadmill for about 20 minutes at 4m/h. I've sort of been using the calorie-counting method.
Anyways, will I lose weight with this, or is it a waste of time? What can I change?

Good job on planning before starting your diet.
I can offer a couple tips that will help you succeed. First, looking at your plan you need to add more protein. Your body needs protein to maintain muscle which burns fat. If you cut protein too low, your body will start using protein from your existing muscle, thus reducing your metabolism. I would ad a portion of protein to your breakfast and lunch.
Second, rather than eat 3 meals. try to eat small meals every 3 to 4 hours. Remember, you want to keep your metabolism in fat burning mode, your body has to know you have a constant supply of nourishment or it will slow down your metabolism to conserve fat not burn it.
I a nut shell, the best way to loose weight is to eat 5 to 6 meals a day, consisting of 250 to 300 calories with a 40% protein, 40% complex carbs and 20% healthy fat balance. Exercise with some muscle building exercises every other day, do some form of aerobic exercise on the other days. Drink 8 glasses of water a day (you body needs water to burn fat), and get plenty of rest because your body repairs it self while sleeping.

You asked what Proteins you can add to your meals. For breakfast you could add a couple egg whites, I like to boil several eggs, remove the yolk and stuff them with a mix of water packed white albacore tuna with a dollop of miracle whip "free". For other meals I choose a portion of tuna, Salmon, broiled skinless chicken breasts, turkey, cottage cheese, and kidney beans. If I can help any further feel free to Email me or ask me at my column.

Since its a "Percentage" it depends on how much you currently weigh, how much of that is fat and how much is lean muscle. For example, if you gain 3lbs muscle and don't loose any fat your body fat % will go down. Conversly you can loose 5 lbs on a crash diet, but if its mostly muscle loss due to your body trying to conserve energy because of the sudden lack of calories, Your Body fat% will go UP.
However, a general rule of thumb is if you weigh 140 1% is 1.4 lbs, assuming its all fat loss and no muscle gain. In other words divide your current weight by 100 and that is 1%

Ever since I could remember I've been doing hundreds of repititions on my stomach every night. Recently, I tried adding a little bit of thigh work, and got results in just a few days, but I also lost some of my butt. I've always been happy with that, and I don't want to lose it but I'd also like to keep my thighs in better shape. Does anyone have any workouts that wouldn't make my butt shrink down, but could help my thighs be more muscular, or do the two kind of go hand in hand? (link)

This often happens when trying to build a specific muscle. Every muscle in your body has a counter muscle. For example, Your Biceps and Triceps. Your body will develop out of proportion if you try to over develop a muscle without working its counter muscle as well. Ever notice how guys that are obsessed with nothing but increasing their chest size and Bench press develop almost a hunch back appearance?
In your case, while trying to develop your thies, work the counter muscles the same work out. You want to do Squats and lunges. A great exercise for the glutes is alternating one legged chair squats.
You will need a solid chair or bench for this exercise. This is to increase the useful range of motion of the exercise, which is important for maximizing it's effects. You will also need to have something solid that you can grab onto. This can be a railing or a door frame or a pole, etc. Place the chair immediately in front of this solid object.
Stand on the chair on one leg facing the solid object and hold onto it at about waist level directly in front of you. Your heel should be close to the back edge of the chair.
Lower your body as far down as you can go into a one-legged squat. Your other leg will drop down below the level of the chair seat behind you. You should feel a great stretch in your glute. Make sure you continue to keep a firm grip on whatever you are holding on to.
Push yourself back up using your glute as much as possible. This is most easily accomplished by focusing on pushing with your heel. Also, you can stick your butt out while pushing back up to really maximize the effect.
(p.s. Only do a few of these at first or you wont be sitting down for a while!)

I get extremely nervous about everything. like if i was trying out for a team in school, i get extremely nervous and i can hardly focus. or even something stupid like going to a teacher for extra help. sometimes im so nervous about something that I cry about it and cant gain control. it makes me sick, literally, like if i was about to do something nerve racking. what should i do? It sounds to me like you are experiencing what's called performance anxiety. In it's most simple form it can occur when we try to suppress the fright, fight or flight instinct that has kept us surviving. When we are under stress our body prepares itself for some type of physical action. When this occurs due to a perceived threat and we are in no physical danger our bodies don't have to react to use this "energy" and it results in anxiety.
Physical symptoms of performance anxiety include a rise in blood pressure, a fast heart rate, rapid breathing, and an increase in muscle tension; intestinal blood flow decreases, sometimes resulting in nausea or diarrhea.
A healthy lifestyle that includes exercise, adequate rest, and good nutrition can help to reduce the impact of anxiety attacks. Aerobic and yoga exercise programs lasting for more than 15 weeks can also help reduce anxiety.
In many people even just understanding what is causing this is enough to "talk ourselves down" from the anxiety attack.
What I used to do when I had these was take deep breaths. Breath in to the count of 4, hold your breath to the count of 12, then breath out to the count of 8. Do this 10 times and it should relax you enough to continue what your doing.
If this doesn't help you could have a severe case in which you should talk to a doctor or a counselor that can provide medical treatment for severe anxiety.

That depends on how much "flab" you need to loose. One thing to remember is that you can not spot loose body fat. Your body burns body fat evenly from your whole body. If its not fat stores you have a problem with and its loose muscle, Then you should be able to tone those areas and see a noticeable difference in 3 to 4 weeks. For toning the abs, I recommend sit ups and crunches. For the arms, try curls for the biceps and Tricep Dips for the tri's. For the Thighs, try lunges and squats.
For starters only do one body part a day for three days. Rest a day then do the cycle again.
After a couple weeks. Go to 2 body parts a day. always rest the body part you work for 2 days before working it again.

hello,im a 17 year old female. my boyfriend and i has had sex in january but i cant remeber what date but what i do no is that i ended my period on jan 29,2006 and we didnt have sex while on my period. so i ended on jan 29, and i didnt have my period in feb at all and know its march 19. i talked to my school nurse and she said it was sooo normal that i have missed it and feb is a short month anyway. im jus worried i no im not pregnet i took a home preg. test and it said that i wasn't. i have totally stressed my self out about being preg the whole month of feb. and i have had breas soreness for about 1 month know, my school nusrse said that common also she said it could be from ouvlation, stress ,even growth ect but i jus want to have my period i usualy hate to have it but im now die to have it,im jus so worried and i just want my period back i havent had any symptons of pregnacy at all i feel regular so if you could please give me some advice and answers why i havent had my period it seems so long i ended on jan 29 and it MARCH!!! does'nt it seem to long or maybe im stressein my self to much. i just had my school exams in jan and i didnt pass any of them, i was upset and my parents are going through a divorce and 4 days out of the week the argue or something. so i really need answers on why my period hasn't came im sooo despreat( if i spelled it right des pirt) for it to come, i totally want my perios i dont care if it came through a white pair of pants i was wearing at home and everyone seen!!! Most likley stress is causing your period to skip or be late. The menstrual cycle can be a good indicator that there are things in the body that aren't right. That's why it is important for woman to always listen to what their body is telling them. Periods can also stop if you are not eating properly or are going through a lot of changes. Which you are right now. Try one more home test and if it says you aren't then just try to relax and you will be fine.
