That happens to me all the time. I sometimes evev pace in front of the door cos i'm too afraid to go in.

What i do is especially when i know i am going to do something i'm nervous of, i wake up earlier than usual and i just sit down, in the dark and breathe, and i imagine how well it's going to go.

I also work out. I got 2 dumbells at home and an excercise ball. Running too. When you've just done some good hard excercise, you feel much more confident.

For now, see if you can get a friend to follow you along, but you do most of the talking and then slowly you go to these places yourself.

Cheers

Don't feel bad about it. I get really nervous too. I read in a magazine once to imagine you're on a beach and your worries are grains of sand. you pick them up and let them fall through your fingers. You just keep picturing this until all the "sand" is gone. I know it sounds stupid but it actually works. if it doesnt i would talk to your parents about it and see if they can take you to a counselor or something.
Good luck!

It sounds to me like you are experiencing what's called performance anxiety. In it's most simple form it can occur when we try to suppress the fright, fight or flight instinct that has kept us surviving. When we are under stress our body prepares itself for some type of physical action. When this occurs due to a perceived threat and we are in no physical danger our bodies don't have to react to use this "energy" and it results in anxiety.
Physical symptoms of performance anxiety include a rise in blood pressure, a fast heart rate, rapid breathing, and an increase in muscle tension; intestinal blood flow decreases, sometimes resulting in nausea or diarrhea.
A healthy lifestyle that includes exercise, adequate rest, and good nutrition can help to reduce the impact of anxiety attacks. Aerobic and yoga exercise programs lasting for more than 15 weeks can also help reduce anxiety.
In many people even just understanding what is causing this is enough to "talk ourselves down" from the anxiety attack.

What I used to do when I had these was take deep breaths. Breath in to the count of 4, hold your breath to the count of 12, then breath out to the count of 8. Do this 10 times and it should relax you enough to continue what your doing.

If this doesn't help you could have a severe case in which you should talk to a doctor or a counselor that can provide medical treatment for severe anxiety.

Good luck.

Being really nervous in situations out of your control is normal, especially in your teenage years. Excessive nervousness can either be a sign that you're just a more easily emotional person in general (which does happen) or a sign of an anxiety disorder. Either one is treatable. I suggest confiding these problems to an adult you trust, like a counselor or a parent. They'll most likely listen to you (talking about it always helps) or connect you to someone that can test you for an anxiety disorder, like a psychiatrist. Googling "anxiety" or "teen anxiety" (which will give you sites like this)

Try not to self-diagnose until you've seen a professional.
Hope this helps.

I know how you feel, and to tell you the truth, I know a lot of other people who also know how you feel.

What you should do is realize something very important that you should always remember: people only care about themselves. Really. Let me explain. Let's say you and I both were trying out for a team in school. I tried out first, then another person, and then it was your turn. What would you be thinking? Would you be thinking about how I did? No. You would only be thinking of how well you were going to do, and throughout the rest of the day I probably won't pass your mind even once. Everyone else works the same way. No one will remember how you did. No one will think about you. So don't get nervous because no one cares how you do except you and the coach, and even after the coach makes the decision, he/she won't be thinking about you all day, will he/she?

Let me explain using a real life example that happened to me. I was doing horribly in a class and I was always worried and stressed so I decided to talk to my teacher. It was nerve-racking because I knew that I was going to start crying (because this class was ruining my life-seriously). So I walked slowly up to my teacher after everyone left and cried to her. She helped me though, and no one knew except her, so it was worth it.

Don't let being nervous ever hold you back. If it gets too serious, I recommend taking non-prescription herbs that help relax your body. They really work.

I hope I helped. It takes time to get over nervousness, so don't expect it to go away over night. And yes, the herbs really help, but they aren't a cure for being nervous.
