Q: How did you get your website to appear like in some sorta slideshow? How did you get the "ask wizer*woordz" banner to move.

I just had to go to column settings and create a style, play with some HTML and work some magic.

Unfortunately for anyone who wants to do that now, they want you to have a paid account.

I did all this changing it before they came up with this whole "paid account" thing, but if you could still do it, i'd be able to help you change up your advice site.

Q: I have a dance this saturday. My stomach is pretty flat but i have big hips. It looks awkward because i have a small upper body, pretty much flat stomach, hardly any butt, and skinny legs.. so my hips just look weird, especially in my dress. I'd like to lose the fat around them by saturday. What are some quick ways/excercises to do that? Thanks so much!

side crunches, maybe some running........but i really dont think it's possible to get rid of any fat that quickly

you can buy special hair bleach stuff, sold in lots of different stores. some other stuff can be dangerous and can burn/damage your hair

It not only hurts when you get the tatoo, it hurts a few days after too. Think about it. Needles with permanent ink being put into your skin. Your body has to get used to it, so you'll have to suffer a bit.

Q: All my "friends" are ganging up on me. They are making me choose them or the guy i love... what do i do? please i really need help

they should understand that you can't just choose one or the other. plan your time so that you can spend time with your friends and your guy. explain that to everyone and if they have a problem with you spending time with someone else also, then they don't have much respect for you or your decisions. talking to everyone should help

Q: does anyone know any weed killers that WONT harm my precious plants?

if there is one, it would be very hard to find. most weed killers i know affect most plants within a small area around where they are applied. the best thing to do would to remove the weeds manually, slowly to get the roots out, then get a weed preventer, which usually stops weeds from growing back, and shouldn't affect your plants, but make sure you read all the cautions to make sure.

I agree, but maybe you should try to answer those questions with similar lingo and make it hard to understand, maybe they'll get the point.

Q: ok-i live in southern louisiana and were out of school today (wednesday), tomorrow (thursday), and idk yet about friday for hurricane ivan. so on my profile it says holy crap no school tomorrow! i mean a lot of people put stuff like that ya know. (and for people that live up north, to get a day off for a hurricane is like ya'll having a snow day-thats how it feels) soo my mom and my bff's mom work together at a preschool and thats where we met when we were 3 years old and now were almost 13 so we go there with our moms to hang out n stuff sense we dont go to the same school. and well were actually born 2 days apart but shes shorter and umm lets just say not as well devloped as me! soo yeah and shes sorta immature, but like not like stupid immature, but like her family's kinda strict in a way like she cant see pg-13 movies until shes 13! (which will be in december) but anyhoo- so cusing isnt THAT big of a deal in their house mainly if the dad would say "damn" or something only everyonce in a while it would be ok but like my friend says them like when shes saying a story or somethin. but back to the story: well i had my away message on and she got on the internet and was like hey OOO u have a bad word on ur pro! (and i could kinda tell she was joking ya know when i was reading the message) but then she was like but seriously thats not like u? why did u say that? but she has no clue i actually cus kinda normally, like say crap and stuff which techinically isnt that bad a word and i say it around my other friends and stuff at school but she signed off b4 i had came back. but i dont get why she thinks its that big of a deal if i would say something like that-yeah maybe shes not that used to me saying it but idk...am i over reacting?

You are overreacting, becuase thats just the way she was raised. I don't really think you can get her or her parents to realize that it's not really that bad to say "damn" and "crap" or anything else like that that's not really bad. If it really bothers her that much, then don't say it while she's around. Or, just say it in front of her and she will be used to it, but make sure she won't go home and say it, cause that can probably get her in trouble.

Q: When I was 12 years old, I was raped, and became pregnant. I never told my daughter how she was conceived. She is 13 years old, and I just found out that she's pregnant. Her boyfriend's father kicked him out of his house as a result. Abortion is out of the question. We have to decide whether my daughter and her boyfriend will raise the baby themselves or allow me to adopt the child. So I have three questions.

1. How do I tell my daughter the truth about how she was conceived?

2. Should I allow her boyfriend to move in with us, and if so, is it okay to make them sleep in seperate rooms? (His only other option is to move out of the country with his mother.)

3. Do you think it would be better for my daughter to raise her child or should I adopt the baby? (I was unable to have any other children.)

Sorry so long, but any advice would be appreciated.

1. You, being 25 or 26 now i guess....well, doesn't your daughter realize you conceived her around the same age she just got pregnant. Hasn't she ever asked you about that? If you've lied to her about it, I think you should sit down with her and tell her the truth. Even if she never asked you, have a talk to her about her child and bring it up.

2. I think you should let him move in and let them decide whether they want to sleep together or separate. I dont think they would make the same mistake after they've gone through all this (i'm sure it's not easy for them).

3. Think about how you raised your daughter. You didn't mention whether you were helped to raise her or not, but I'm pretty sure you learned a lot from it, even though your situation was different. It's really up to you whether you want to let your daugher take care of the baby or if you want to raise the child, but you should also ask your daughter what she would want to do other than abortion. I think letting her and her boyfriend raise the child could be a good idea, but they will probably need help, so help them out when they need it.

how about you talk to her, ask her if she still has any feelings for you. it seems like you're still friends with her, tell her you don't wanna lose your friendship with her just because of that asshole

if she doesnt care and has no feelings for you, then if i was you i would go ahead and beat the living sh*t out of him.

Q: how do you get those cool backgrounds onto your advice column (im not that computer savvy) lol

there are a bunch of sites that have backgrounds.

you can even use an image, and you will see a bunch of that image on your background,

just find the link to a picture and put it in the space for background URL in column settings

my comlumn was done mostly in html, but since ur "not that computer savvy" it could be difficult to do that

Q: Im a 14 f. This boy just asked me out yesterday and i told him i'd give him an answer today.i really like him but i dont want to have a bf right now. well today he got hurt while he was working and had to go to the hospital... i dont want to make him feel worse by telling him i dont want to go out with him but.. i dont want a boyfriend. please help me on what i should say.

Technically, you can say something like...
"It's not you, it's me, I really don't feel ready for a relationship right now."
If you think he would be a good boyfriend and you want to go out with him when you DO want a boyfriend, you can continue by saying...
"We can still be very good friends and maybe we'll go out eventually."
That way, you don't have to feel obligated to go out with him.

There is no way to "reject" someone without making them feel bad, unless they don't care. Wait until he feels better to tell him if you wanna go out with him or not. (make up some excuse to not tell him yet)
Tell him that he should be worried more about himself that hes hurt, not about anything else. He might be ok with that, and might pick up a hint that you don't want to go out with him right now. Maybe you can explain when things are better.

If it's commitment you don't want.....well make sure you tell him that, maybe you can still be good friends with him, but not "go out" and maybe keep your options open for when you're ready, and maybe he could feel the same and agree.

Whatever you do, be honest with him about your feelings. Don't just lie to him because you don't want him to feel bad.

Q: Hey, to anyone who can help me i'll rate a 5!!...but this is for those who had read To Kill a Mockingbird...i was just wondering if you know what chapters really describe Atticus' character..THANX!

Wow, i had to do quite a few essays on this book last year. Fortunately, i remember some examples from the book about this. UNfortunately, I don't remember the exact chapters everything was in.
Sorry if these arent in order, but i'll give some examples:

1. Scout says Atticus is a gentleman for shooting Tim Johnson (the dog) and ridding the town of that danger.
2. As Atticus is leaving the courtroom from Tom Robinson's trial, ALL the negroes stand up (showing respect because Atticus was a good man and tried his best to help Tom, something no one else would have done)
3. Bob Ewell spit in Atticus' face the next time he saw him after the trial, but Atticus did nothing about it giving a good reason for it (he said it was worth not doing anything if it saved Mayella Ewell from another beating from Bob)
4. After Boo Radley saved the kids from Bob Ewell, Atticus agreed to not tell anyone about it, because Boo wouldn't like attention from the town (I think that showed Atticus is very understanding)

Some people are just more liked than others and may be considered "cool" and would do anything, including losing friends to stay popular. If they are really your friends, they should't turn on you. It's not good, but it happens a lot.
Those people are definately NOT real friends if they turn on you or end their friendship with you like that.

Q: How do I get more people to ask my column for advice? I have answered a couple random questions, but how do I get people to ask me directly or more or at all? Any Advice welcome!

I wish people would ask me questions also. I've had A TON of visitors on my column, but maybe just because it looks interesting....i dunno.

I don't think theres really anything you can do but wait. If there IS something you can do, i would like to find out also.

Q: do guys prefer blondes or brunettes?

I'm a guy and it really doesn't matter to me. A girl can look good with blonde or brunette hair, or anything else for that matter. Sometimes it just depends on the girl (don't ask, its just my opinion).
