about

Long story short, I'm from Los Angeles, went to an amazing school, left the US and moved to the Middle East. I've been backpacking around Europe and the Middle East on and off since August 2013.

are bare minerals make up a good make up to covver your ugly facE? i meant MY UGLY FAC like i have lots of blemishes and ugly dark spots.

can this cover it?

When I break out during that lovely time of month, I need to use a lot to make my skin look even and flawless.

However, when my skin is clearer, the foundation with mineral veil looks amazing.

It should help with the dark spots.

Im not quite sure i understand why people wish at 11:11...help me understand please??????
and does your wish come true.

It's all 1s.

Some people also do it at 2:22, etc.

And of course the wishes don't come true. Thinking something can't compel someone else to make it happen.

Magic fairies don't exist.

I'm converting to Judaism. Yes, I know it's a very rigorous process. Yes, I know I won't be accepted by some branches of Judaism. I have done all of the research, I'm planning on talking with a rabbi in my area soon and start conversion classes. It's what is right for me, I know it. The only problem is that I'm afraid to tell my family and friends. My parents themselves are not religious at all. They celebrate Christian holidays because my mother was raised Catholic and my father was raised Orthodox, but neither one of them ever raised my siblings and me in a certain religion. My mother's stepmom is even Jewish, as is my dad's brother-in-law. I know that this is what I need to do, what will make me feel whole. I've always felt a part of the Jewish community, even when I was younger, I just don't know how to tell my family this. I tried to bring it up with my older brother and he didn't really understand. He asked me, "Why do you need some sort of organized religion? Why can't you just believe what you believe?". Being the youngest, they don't always take me seriously. My mom really loves celebrating the holidays too and I don't really know how she'll react. What should I do to let them know?

Celebrating "the holidays" won't change if you are Jewish.

Chanukah and Christmas often coexist on certain lovely days of December. Chanukah is generally perceived as less materialistic as Christmas because it is more than a birthday.

With that said, I assume you'll be converting to reform Judaism. If that's not what you were originally doing, I recommend it highly.

Reform Judaism is the "level" of Judaism that is the freest and lets you believe more of what you want with the Torah as guidance. I know of a few reform Jews that are wondering if there is a God. They do not wear kippot or tzitzit. Many keep kosher just as many do not. Reform Judaism is very, very big on fixing the world, or tikkun olam (this is also known as social action). You can google it. Those alone should help your family accept it. That and it's VERY similar to Christianity except that we Jews do not believe that the Messiah has come, whereas Christians believe that Jesus is the Messiah.

Welcome to Judaism, and let me know if you have any more questions.

what is a protestant? im a christian, whats the difrence? i know what catholic, muslim buddhism and all tht is but ive never heard of protestant until i saw it on my friends myspace.

thnx in advanced

Basically, when Henry VIII was excommunicated from the Catholic Church, he created the Church of England (Anglican). Then, Martin Luther and John Calvin both saw things that were wrong with the Catholic Church and so they came up with Lutheranism and Calvinism. There's a mini-history lesson for you. :]

Anything that is NOT Catholic is Protestant.

Ok I know what a bible is but i don't. I know it's like a story of jesus' life. I know it's for christains. I believe in Jesus I just don't exactly know what the bible contains. Please tell me everything you know about it. Like wat it contains and stuff.

Well, different religions have different Bibles.

For Jews: Torah [Old Testament]
For Muslims: Koran
For Christians: the Bible

I'm sure that there's a Sparknotes on it.

My best friend is an atheist. I am a Christian. I've asked my youth minister how to help convert him. Every time we get on the subject, he says CAN WE TALK ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE? And won't even hear what I have to say. Most of you might say "Just accept it." But because of my religion, when I'm in Heaven for all eternity and my best friend is in Hell, Its going to really suck. I need someway to talk to him without him refusing. I know all I can do is try to convert him, but I'm really being eaten away by this. He said he was saved when he was little, and I know if you're saved, you go to Heaven, but this is like UGH. If he's saved, and has changed his mind, how does that work? Also, I think he changed his mind because of "certain influences" at school. So how do I kindly put my point of view of Christianity to him, without offending him or causing him to hate me?

Can you honestly not tell that you're annoying him?

I'm Jewish, and I get really, really upset when people try to convert me.

It's really none of your business what their religion is.

You have offended him. You have offended me.

I was asking questions about Christianity to one of my Christian friends, and she told me that I needed to go to Church. I have been told "Merry Christmas" so many times. It's absolutely ridiculous. Every week, Jews don't go around saying "Shabbat Shalom!"

People that try to shove their beliefs down other people's throats are a disgrace to humanity and to their own religion.

And, finally, just because you are Christian doesn't mean you're going to heaven. How do you even know that there is a heaven?
You can't prove it.

Stop being so closeminded.

Sluuuuttttttttt.

Just kidding.

Why do you care so much?

You don't want to be with someone that only likes you because they think that they can have sex with you.

why do people put fashion problems questions in the spirituality section fashion has nothing to do with religion people.

Probably for the same reasons that you don't type correctly.

People are lazy. Get used to it; that isn't going to change anytime soon.

iknow
seniors =12th graders
junoirs =11th graders

anyone wanna help me out of the others?

Seniors are either 12th graders, or in their last "year" of college.
Juniors are either 11th graders, or in their second-to-last "year" of college.
Sophomores are either 10th graders, or in their second "year" of college.
Freshmen are either in 9th grade, or in their first "year" of college.

All of the college "years" are in quotes because man degrees nowadays are no longer 4-year; many require more, and your "year" in college may span over more tha one calendar year.

I get the feeling you were just wondering about high school, though.

Say your spouse dies and goes to "Heaven". You learn to cope and marry again. Then you and your new spouse somehow die (whomever first, it doesn't matter), but you both go to "Heaven". Now you're there with two martial partners. How is your time divided? Or how does that work? Can you love them both? Can you "be with" them both? Will they know of each other's existence?

There obviously isn't a right or wrong answer, so all opinions welcome and appreciated.

In wedding vows, there is usually an "until death do us part" clause.

So, once your first spouse dies, you are no longer "married," plus when you die, you are no longer "married."

I think that you will still share a bond with these people, if you see them in heaven.

I'm actually Jewish, and unlike Christianity, we don't really focus on the afterlife as much as you guys do. I'm not really sure waht heaven is, and we don't believe in hell.

I guess I'll have to wait to die to find out, now won't I?

Are there any orthodox Jews who can answer this question for me?

A neighbor built what appears to be a big plywood box a bit bigger than a car in his driveway.

It has what I think is Hebrew writing on the side.

Can anyone tell me what the heck they are doing? I don't think they want to talk about it so I am asking here. Any help?

Well, it's irrelevant as to what type of Jew needs to answer your question.

It's most likely a sukkah for the Jewish holiday Sukkot.

I am very confused about religion. My family is Christian and believe in God, but aren't too religious. I was never told to believe in anything.

I believe in God. BUT I also believe in Karma. Is there any sort of name or religion for that? they are two different beliefs and religions, but I believe in both.

I believe that everything happens for a reason. I believe in G-d. This is my take on religion.

I encourage you to make up your mind about what YOU want to believe, not what others have shoved down your throat.

In general, these are two separate religions.

I was talking to my friend about religions and how they relate, and she told me that Islam, Christianity, and Judaism are very similar in their beliefs. The books are very alike, but have different names, according to my friend, and that the belief in Jesus is how Christianity stands out.

But how are Islam and Judaism REALLY different? [I'm not knowledgable at all with religions, so don't accuse me of lieing and stuff cuz this is what my friend told me]. Just because Muslims believe Muhammad was a prophet and Jews don't doesn't seem significant enough to separate the religions. So yeah..how are they different?

Judaism and Islam are cousins.

Judaism has 3 "levels". Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox.

Islam has the same 3 levels, according to my googling.

Both believe in one g-d.

Jews believe that the Messiah is yet to come, and do not idolize at all.

From my understanding, there is some idolization in the Islam religion.

Jewish eating habits (if you follow them, many jews don't) are pretty strict. They can be further discussed here: http://www.jewfaq.org/kashrut.htm .

The holidays also differ, but in the month of Ramadan (where Muslims fast every day and eat each night...like their Xmas or Chanukah) and on a bunch of random Jewish holidays, (including Yom Kippur), there is fasting, or not eating, during the day.

It seems like I compared more than I contrasted, but these are two close religions.

Good luck, and may I suggest google??

I'm not trying to offend anyone,
there are a lot of stories about fairies, and there are a lot of stories about God.
We don't have proof that fairies or God exists...yet so many people are convinced God does, while fairies or something of the sort are classified as just things in story books.
I'm not trying to get attention or anything, but I kind of don't get it.
So, just wondering...do you have an answer?

I'm Jewish, so this might be a different perspective from other answers-

I am a strong believer that everything happens for a reason. I mean, yes, this could all be coincidental, but I believe that there is something, or someone, responsible for all of the things that go on.

I think that I also believe it because I went to temple as a little girl and learned all about Torah, I recently had my Bat-Mitzvah. All of the biblical stories aren't special to me becuase "God" created them, tey just hold certain morals that I would agree with anyway.

I think that I just classify my general beliefs as believing in God, and I think that "God" means something else to everyone on the planet.

I hope that I helped, and let me know what you think in the feedback, please!

Is it true that the only difference between Christianity and Judaism is that Christians believe that Jesus was the messiah and Jews don't believe the messiah has come yet?

There are other minor differences. Might I suggest google?

R.I.P Pope John Paul II Karol Wojtyla

Now that he has passed away, how does everyone feel? What do you think is gonna happen? Is the world really gonna come to an end? - xglam0urx

IS THE WORLD GONNA COME TO AN END?? Are you kidding yourself? The Pope was a leader, but not G-d. He was a person, just like you and I. I'm sorry but not everyone is Christian or whatever that Pope is and those people think he is a healer through physical power. Whoever told you the world will come to an end is sadly mistaken....sorry for the bluntness!
