well the bible, is God's word. he had people here on earth right it for him, God them what to say and they put it down. now, in like the new testiment, when jesus came into earth, different people wrote different stuff, like paul he wrote what he preached. james did the same thing etc.... the book to matthew, mark, luke and john are book in the bible that one of the 12 discples of christ wrote, they contain jesus's life, teaching etc.... the old testiment, contains stuff that happened BEFORE christ walked the earth. hope this helped. have any questions or w/e, ask me or drop me an email at moneyman_651@hotmail.com

The Bible actually contains many parts. The first part, the Old Testament, is for the most part the story of the world's creation and the history and laws of the Jewish people--the roots of Christianity. There are also books of poetry, proverbs, and prophecies.

The second part is the New Testament, which contains a variety of stuff. There's the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), which tell the story of Jesus' life and teachings. After that, there's Acts and the Epistles (letters), which tell of what happened after Jesus' death and resurrection--essentially, the story of the early Church and theological studies. And then there's Revelations, which no one is entirely sure about!

Lastly, there's the apocryphal books, which are sort of "optional" texts that are accepted or rejected as canonical from branch to branch of the church.

It is a collection of various written books, letters, songs, stories and even historical events that are held by believers to be divine and true. The Bible of Christianity contains books that are divided by two separate time periods. The Old Testament section comes first and is basically taken from the Jewish Holy Torah. The history and beliefs of the Hebrew Nation or "God's Chosen People." It begins with the creation of the world and man and predicts the coming of the Christ. The New Testament begins with four accounts from four men on the birth and life of Jesus, whom Christians believe to be the Christ, the Son of God, and Savior of the world. In the New Testament, Jesus has followers that were the first Christians. Some were Jews and some non-Jews and they had faith in Christ to be the Son of God. There were those who were both Jews and non-Jews who did not believe in him, too. At the end of the Bible, the last book is Revelation. It is thought that the end of the world and the coming of Christ is metaphorically predicted in this book, but details of the "end times" are layered in heavy symbolism and difficult to comprehend. The Old Testament originally was the Jewish Torah, adopted by Christians later. The original text is in Hebrew. The New Testament is originally in Greek. The Bible has been greatly distributed in the world where it is legal to do so, but in some countries where they view the Bible and free-thinking as a threat, it is banned and the punishment for reading it, having it, or being a Christian is DEATH. It is still a very powerful book, whether or not one believes it is holy.

The Bible is yes the story of Jesus but its so much more than that...it tells you how you should live your life it you're saved. And it tells you about the Rapture and sin and everything...you can go to church and the preacher will preach out of it, and explain things in it. But if you have any more questions please ask me, im saved and i go to a Baptist church. Hope i helped

It has a lot of stories in it that Christians base their values on. It can be interpreted literally (the stories actually happened) or figuratively (the stories were written to teach you lessons about life) depending on what type of Christian or non-Christian you are. Jesus doesn't come in until the second half, so there's a lot more to it than just Jesus. There's a ton of other important people. Even if you aren't Christian, the stories can be really good. If you're interested, I would suggest reading a revised edition or even a children's version where it puts everything in modern day language and style so it's easier to follow and understand and you won't get bored, lost, or confused.

Well, different religions have different Bibles.

For Jews: Torah [Old Testament]
For Muslims: Koran
For Christians: the Bible

I'm sure that there's a Sparknotes on it.
