I'm not allowed to do anything with my leg or arm hair. My parents think it will grow back thicker no matter how much I convince them. I also have kind of sensetive skin I guess? Well, I need every possible way to get rid of leg hair. Every time I look at my legs, theres either more hair, or getting thick. My parents think shaving will make it grow back thicker, the hair removal cream will harm my skin, and waxing, they think its bad?
If you can please help, then can you please please please list these :
- Positives and Negatives for every possible way to remove body hair
- If you tried any, then please list the comments
- Some ways to convince my parents to buying them

My parents dont even have leg hair, my dad does, so I guess it genetics. Otherwise, they still dont let me. Any advice would help. Thanks ;♥ (link)
well, your parents are right, it really will grow thicker, unless you use the really expensive hair removal methods. i don't know how old you are, but maybe it's a good idea to wait. when i was 13, i shaved, going against my parents recommendations because of peer pressure, but when i became just old enough to not care so much about what people think, i realized that my hair is actually really thin and light compared to most people's and really there shouldn't be anything wrong with me not shaving if i don't want to, so i stopped. i don't think there's any way you can convince your parents that it's okay, but you can convince them that you have the right to learn on your own mistakes - they might be more likely to go with that argument because adults like it when you recognize that they're probably right.

I am 15/f. I can almost always predict when I will be ill with a fever (before I get the fever...) because all of a sudden I can smell this certain scent that I never smell whenever I'm feeling well. It's sort of a sickly almost bodyodor-like smell and it drives me nuts! I know there is probably nothing I can do about it, but what causes this? I am very hygienic and take a shower every day. Is my nose becoming more sensitive to weird smells as I become ill? Or am I emitting some different type of odor when I'm sick? I asked my friends if I smell different (haha, I know, weird) and they said I smell like soap. Thanks! (link)
i think that just means you have an extremely sensitive sence of smell. people do smell differently when they're about to get a fever, a seisure, a heart attac, etc. however, human nose is normally too dull to be able to pick that up - animals can though. and then some people just have sharper sences than others - smell, hearing, vision... i bet it's pretty rare though. and hey, having a warning when you're about to get a fever can be a pretty convenient. think of it as a mini-superpower =)

i rarely wear any underwear and i was wondering if there is anything wrong with this or anything bad can happen to my you knowww (link)
there is absolutely nothing wrong with going comando if you like it - i know a lot of ppl who haven't been wearing underwear for many years, and they're fine. it's really just a matter of comfort - my ladyparts don't feel comfortable against jeans, but if it feels comfy to you, go for it.

Ok, when I wear lightweight shirts like tee-shirts and stuff, I sweat! I use good anti-persperant, but it doesn't work. What is wrong with me! (link)
nothing is wrong, b/c everyone sweats. modern society has convinced us that sweating is bad, mostly so that people would buy deodorant - it's all about consumerism. don't worry about it. maybe try wearing slightly looser shirts. if you think you might smell, carry around a bottle of body spray to refresh yourself every now and then. but seriously, everyone has that problem, and it's not that big of a deal.

okay heres the thing
about 6 weeks ago i was having really bad cramping, pains in my breast, soar all over, felt really sick, then i started my period, ive been on my period for 6 years or so now, and never felt that kinda pain at all, for the last 6 week s though ive been on my period and it hasnt stopped, and the whole 6 weeks ive been having blood clots,NOW 6 weeks later i feel soo tired, and even sicker, everytime i stand up i feel like im going to faint, and i feel really dizzy and cramping. i just start crying for no reason, and i feel really stressed out, and ive called 5 differnt gynocologist's to see and the soonest i can get in is middle of august, Should i maybe go to the hospital? or just wait, i really dont know what to do. (link)
you should see someone immediately, this sounds very serious. you can go to urgent care, see your family doctor, or you can call your health clinic and tell them that you need to see a gynechologist ASAP. if you tell them it's very urgent, they may be able to find an appointment for you sooner. if this gets any worse, go to the emergency room.
i hope you get better and everything turns out okay!

I recently just went through some second-degree burn trauma on Sunday. I was supposed to get my period on Monday. It is now Wednesday evening and I still have not gotten my period. I am guessing that all the stress from my injury has delayed it but I am showing no signs of getting it. I've never had sex so I'm not worried about a pregnancy but it just seems odd that its been delayed this long already. Any ideas? (link)
well, when you're under serious stress, you can just miss your period alltogether. i recently missed my period simply because i was stressing over finals (i know, that sounds kinda stupid). and then i had it again two cycle periods after my last period - it was as if i'd never missed it. so i think you need to wait until the time when you should be having your period again, then see if it comes. it won't be surprising if you miss it even then.

I've been running the last couple days because I want to start exercising a lot more. But when I woke up this morning, my calves were really really sore. I didn't pull anything or anything like that, they're just sore from all the running. Should I still run today or should I take a break because of the sore calves? If I should take a break on running, is there anything else I could do exercise-wise? Thanks in advance =] (link)
take a beak today. but next time don't forget to stretch - that will prevent the soreness. our coach always told us to switch every day - one day work on your upper body, and then the next day work out your legs. that way you always stay active, but your muscles have time to rest. so when you're not running, you could go to a weightroom and work your biceps, triceps, deltoid and so on. or you could do puch-ups, crunches and such. sorry i can't give you more examples of exersises you could do at home, but i've always worked out at school at the weightroom. you could always ask an athletics coach or try researching it online.

im 13/f and whenever i go swimmin i get a little darker and i like my skin tone the way it is how do i go swimmin and still not get a tan? (link)
use an spf 50-70 sunblock, that should help for sure. i think they're intended for babies or people with extremely sensitive skin or even albino, but if you don't want to get any more tan, it should work. besides, uv radiation is bad for your skin anyway - it increases the risk of skin cancer and makes it age faster. so, if you use a really strong sunblock, it would be better both for your looks and for your health.

My boobs are different sizes, I know thats normal but my doctor told me I was almost done with my "growing" and my left boob is almost 1 inch and a half bigger around the the other one. In a shirt it looks fine, cause of my bra, but when I wear a swimsuit it`s really noticable. I`ve tried doubling up on the padding in the smaller one but its the part that hangs out thats really noticable. Even friends I`ve never mentioned it to have said they`ve noticed it! What should I do and is this like .. unhealthy? (link)
i would wait until you are eighteen or older, and if they don't even out by then and it still bothers you, ask your doctor if you can get a breast reduction for your left boob or breast inlargement for your right. for now you just have to be happy with what you have and keep in mind that you're not the only one who has to go through that. as for bathing suits, try wearing sports swimming suits - they cover your breasts higher up so that you can't see the cleavage, so that people won't be able to tell that your boobs are different sizes.

I used a tampon for the first time tonight. I began to feel a little discomfort afterabout 30minutes to I took it out. However it hurt to take it out; I had to pull pretty hard. Is this normal? (link)
it shouldn't hurt, but it is normal that you'd have to pull hard because it absorbs liquid and expands while it's in your vagina. if you felt discomfort, it may be because you didn't insert it all the way in - then it really would hurt a bit. make sure to use good tampons with plastic applicators and regular absorbensy, at least for your first box of tampons.

I have a very big fear of the dark. The thing is Its not beacuse of just a little thing like scary movies or stuff like that. I had a really bad expierence in the dark at a hospital after one of my heart surgerys. I can't go anywhere without a light on or someone close by. Its kinda silly i no but i need help. How do I slowly get over this stupid fear. Im a 15 yr old female. Im too old for this!

help pleae! I ALWAYS rate well!
(link)
sounds like a common phobia. you don't have to be embarrassed, a lot of people have phobias, and many of them are scared of much more unreasonable things. if you really want to get rid of it, the best thing you could do is see a specialist. phobias are not that hard to cure, it just takes a few visits to a therapist. getting rid of a phobia on your own is not quite possible.

is it healthy for a 5'8" teen to weigh around 115lbs. And if you know, what is a good weight for someone who's 5'8"? (link)
i used to weigh that much and i'm the same height. it is considered a little under weight, but none of the physicians who examined me ever said anything about it, so i guess it's nothing to be alarmed about. it would be good for you to gain a few pounds, but eventually you will anyway. hey, gaining weight is definitely more fun than trying to lose it, you can have fun with it and eat lots of yummy food =)

I'm 13 && had discharge for almost 2 years. recently it turned to a light brown for about 4 days. now i barely have it. Is it normal to have discharge that long && what does it mean that it was brown for like 4 day?
(link)
i think it's just your period starting. in fact, that's exactly how mine began. i was 14, and never had periods before. then i started having brown discharge for a few days once every month. then it became bloody, 6 or so months after the first brown discharge it turned into real periods. some people's periods are just weird like that... if you're kinda skinny or small, that might be why - skinny girls' periods are weak in the beginning and they begin later than average. so don't worry, it's alright =) though you could go and see a ginecologist and he'd be able to explain it to you more clearly. hope that helped =)

i got my period for the 4th month at the beginning of november. the very beginning. so i had it for like a 5 days. 2 days later i got it again and i still have it now heavy as ever. is this normal? it sucks so much nd i have used SO many pads!!! (link)
it's okay, periods are always weird in the beginning. takes 12-18 months (or even longer) for them to get normal. now, if your periods get unbelievably abnormal, like the cramps are incredibly painful, you bleed so much you have to change your pad ten times a day, and the periods keep happening a few days apart - then see a doctor, they'll give you stuff to balance your hormones. but you should be fine, doesn't sound like you have a problem.

Okay...I've had my period for exactly 2 years as of December 5. I want to use tampons, and I know how to put them in and all the dangers. But I have a few other questions:

Does it hurt going in/while its in/coming out?
What is an appropriate size?
What exactly does Toxic Shock Sydrome do to your body?
How do you know that you have TSS?

I rate. (link)
it doesnt really hurt, but the first couple of times feel uncomfortable. i wasted about half the box trying to put them in the first time, because it just didn't feel like they culd go any further. (i would've given up, but i was on the swimming team and waay too embarrased to ask my coach.) just keep pushing it in until it suddenly feels comforable - that's when it's inside.

while it's in, you barely feel it, or, ideally, you don't feel it at all. after 2-3 times, inserting the tampon doesn't take any effort and doesn't cause any discomfort. pulling it out doesn't hurt either, but there's some resistence because the tampon has absorbed liquid and became much bigger.

the answers to your questions about TSS can be found on the instructions sheet to any tampons, so just make sure to read it very closely.

I have my period and I need to work from 10-4. This isn't a problem in school because I can put pads in my backpack - no big deal. But at work I don't know what to do. If I put it in my purse that's no good, my purse gets left in an office that's not near the bathroom. any other ideas? thanks! (link)
use tampons - you can keep them in for six hours. for backup, buy those light pantiliners (like "always" thin) and put a couple in your pocket - they're practically invisible. or you can just go by the office and grab your purse - it's not embarrasing, it's normal for girls to go to the restroom with our purses - to put our makeup or hairspray on, for lotion or deodorant, or to use our pads.

**EDIT: okay, i'm sorry, i wrote "for 6 hours," but i should have said "for up to 6 hours." sorry.

I AM IN MY LATE TEENS. NOW I CANT REMEMBER IF I PUT A TAMPON IN OR NOT. THEIR IS NO STRING. I HAVE HAD INTERCOURSE SINCE. is it true that a salt water bath will just make it slide out. i cannot check myself as my nails are long!!!! (link)
don't be too worried, the toxic shock syndrome is a very rare thing, especially now that they put all sorts of antibiotics in the tampon to prevent it. i know a person who had a tampon stuck, it came out on its own in a couple of days and nothing happened to her. and if you're really worried, then do you really like your nails that much? trim them and then check. maybe you didn't put in a tampon at all.
