wow, that's not a good situation. I've never heard of the salt water bath, and I would think that'd burn? If you have had sex since then, I'd say there's no tampon..and if there is, then it's deep in there and you should probably see a doctor in order to get it out. I'd definetly make an appointment, although it may be very embaressing.

look in a mirror. if you think it's deep, make an appointment with a gyno, fast.

Okay...I think it's kind of weird and a little disgusting to have sex when you're on your period, but it's your choice and I'm not one to judge. There isn't that much room for it to go, and if you had sex it's more than likely not in there. Have the person you had sex with check for it if your fingernails are too long. If you feel any pain or are still really worried that it's in there you should see a doctor. The chances of getting TSS are no different than wearing tampons at all so that's nothing to worry about. There is, however, a good chance of getting some kind of infection. I hope everything works out for you and good luck!

don't be too worried, the toxic shock syndrome is a very rare thing, especially now that they put all sorts of antibiotics in the tampon to prevent it. i know a person who had a tampon stuck, it came out on its own in a couple of days and nothing happened to her. and if you're really worried, then do you really like your nails that much? trim them and then check. maybe you didn't put in a tampon at all.

If you can't remember, the best thing to do is go see a doctor.

Tampons left in can cause toxic shock syndrome. Not to mention severe abdominal pain. It is going to rot (sorry to be blunt).

If you have had intercourse since, you probably won't find a string. It is probably to high to reach now.

You need to see a doctor ASAP. Honestly, leaving one in can be a very serious situation.

Hopefully, it will turn out you didn't leave one in. But, err on the safe side.

And no, don't rely on any salt water bath.
