advice
Hi, I was looking for a good columnist to give me advice on this, and when I read that you are into fitness, I was like, "Wow, that was easy." SO...I go running and I don't overeat. I usually don't eat junk food. I've been patient, but I've gained weight instead of losing it, and I know it's not muscle. I can tell I've actually gained fat. I am 15/f, 5'2 1/2" and 125 pounds. I'm not happy with my weight and I've been worrying about it since like 6th grade, but I've never been able to lose anything. It's like the only thing on my mind every day and it really upsets me and frustrates me.
First of all, nice to know you sent this to me personally. =) I love when people stick stuff in my inbox!
Anyway, basically, you need a great exercise and diet program. One of the ways you can get both of these is by going to a gym -- there are trainers and nutritionists that can help create a program just for you. However, it costs money at some gyms (which sucks).
You don't need to lose weight -- your height and weight are fairly average. What you need to do is continue exercising to tone your body and make yourself look and feel more fit. I'd also suggest modifying your diet -- just because you don't overeat or eat junk food doesn't mean that you're eating the right stuff!
Here are some websites to help you out.

Okay, I really don't know what your situation is (how much you weigh, how tall you are, how much weight you want to lose), so I'm going to give you some websites to help you out.

I'm not completely sure just how reliable these sources are, so you may want to talk to a doctor as well.

I swear I'm not trying to brag, I'm 13 and only like 70 pounds, I sit in front of my computer all day, I eat a bunch of crap food, I go to McDonalds all the time, but you can still see my spine through the front. How can I gain weight? I rate high usually, but smartass answers will just result in me asking "Why do you suck so much?" as one of those personal questions.
First of all, you're not eating healthily, and that could be part of your problem. Just because you eat junk food doesn't mean that you're going to gain weight. And if you don't at least attempt to eat the proper foods, you're going to be malnutritioned and that will have serious drawbacks. Such as death.
Anyway, there are several things that you should look at. You could just have an extremely high metabolism, which means that your body is going to need a LOT of nutritious food (another reason to start eating healthy foods). It's also possible that you have an overactive thyroid. The thyroid (it's located somewhere in the neck-ish region, I think) controls your weight -- an overactive thyroid can cause you to be severely underweight, and vice-versa for an underactive one. It also controls your moods -- if you have bipolar disorder, it's because your thyroid is overactive (so if you're bipolar, that's probably why you're underweight). However, just because you have an overactive thyroid doesn't necessarily mean you'll be bipolar.
Either way, you probably need to see a doctor about it, because it could be something that is detrimental to your health.

Hello. I don't really know how this works, but I am taking a crack at it. Lately, I have been reading many sites that teenage girls like me have been making about anorexia. Most often then not they are praising it, but I have found few who tell me to look away. I am about to be 15 years old in a month. Soon, I am going back to school. I weigh 204lbs. Everyone tells me I don't look overweight, but its not just the way I look. I feel heavy. I feel sick and digusted, but I when I read these websites I get inspired to lose weight. Though, never to such an extreme as to starving myself. Are there any diets or tips out there that can help me? I'm feeling really inadequate.
First of all, you can be anorexic even if you're overweight. Anorexia means that you're depriving your body of the nutrition that it needs -- you don't have to be 85 pounds for that.
Go to a gym and get a trainer and a nutritionist to help you. Let them know that you want to safely and effectively lose weight because you want to look better and feel better about yourself. Have the trainer create an exercise regimen just for you, and get tips from the nutritionist on what types of foods you can eat to stay healthy and lose weight.

i usally do arounf 100 sit-ups everyday( not at once, but like 20-20-20-20-20) and i was wondering, how long will it be untill i see resultes?!
It depends on if you're doing the situps correctly, and if you're doing them EVERY day. Any muscle you build will basically disappear if you don't work out for two days in a row. But anyway, if you're doing them correctly and daily, you should see results within a month or so. But if you don't continue with the exercise, even if you have the results you want, you will lose that muscle tissue.
