Quite frankly, I'm sarcastic way more than I should be. Read a few of my answers, and you'll see that I am not totally mean to anyone.
Type correctly or go home. Yes, that is an ultimatum.

I need professional serious music management.

Perform anywhere you can. If you're in LA, the right people will notice.
You can also send a press kit to different managers, though "getting discovered" is usually a better alternative.
I will be in the NYC area around this time and I would love to see The Academy Is... and All Time Low at the Miley Sized thingy at Time Square. I have no idea how to get tickets or attend but I have money to spare.
I'm 16 years old and recently had my BDay so that's where the money is from.
Miley is going to some kid's house for the New Year's thing. She will not be in Times Square.

im thinking of doing my school's talent show in spring. maybe solo, or with my friend. can you give me good ideas of songs i can sing solo, and songs i can sing with my friend? im in 8th grade and a girl (if its not obvious). and i sing... well its hard to describe, like i can be alto and then kinda soprano sometimes-ish. and please dont say songs like "Fallin" by alicia keys.. like not TOO mainstream but not TOO weird either.
thanks! :)
I suggest songs from the musical Sweet Charity.
For singing tips, feel free to check the website I have listed on my column.
So me and my friend want to do a cover of 'Three Cheers for Five Years' by Mayday Parade. He's a guy so natually he has a lower voice than me {15/f) and I was wondering if there was anywhere that would show the voice parts for the acoustic version. Cause the version we want to do is on the Punk Goes Acoustic 2 album and there are two voice parts that harmonize throughout. Where can I find it?
I doubt that they publish them. If you're willing to pay, just get it arranged. That way it will work perfectly with your voices.
Good luck.

OK so i'm almost 14 i take choir at school and drinking dairy products lowers your voice like your vocal range you can go as high and i usualy drink alot of milk so i was wondering if anyone knows how i can make it so i can go higher when i sing ????
Dairy doesn't lower your voice...it creates phlegm.
Read my singing tips website on my column and just do warmups to continually raise your range.
is there ways to improve the way you sing? im not really really bad but i could definitely be better. any help, thankS!
Yes; the website that I made on my column should do well to help you.
http://www.geocities.com/singingtips/sing.html
Okay i'm talking about singing here. If you're an alto can you become a soprano with vocal lessons?
Yes.
http://www.geocities.com/singingtips/sing.html
is being able to sing well something that you have to be born with, or is it something you can be taught?
thanks!
If you can talk, you can sing.
The amazing singers? They're generally born with it, or started so early that it's practically the same thing.
Agina Alvarez http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B96t-7qhepo? Great perosn. Love that girl. She's been doing it forever; her mom and little sisters all are absolutely amazing. Christina Aguliera? Same story.
Personally? I have always been able to sing, but I honed my talents in choir classes. Now, I say I'm good, but I've got nothing on Agina. :]
I suggest you check out the website on my page...my list of singing advice might really benefit you.
how do you add vibrato to your voice? i'm having a big problem with it.. advice from experienced singers please
Well, just say the sound a lot of times. For example, "ee" you sing "ee" over and over very fast until you get it.
ever since Sanjaya was voted off the show i've been wanting to get into contact with him so badd. does anyone know his email address or something? thanks so much!

ok so i really want to learn the proper techniques for singing but i cant afford lessons. My parents wont pay for them either because were on a tight budget. Does anyone have any tips or sites that can help me out thanks i appreciated!
I actually made a website. The link is on my column.
I've been classically trained for about 5 years now. :]
I want to be a vocal coach/ teacher, so let me know via my column, AIM, or e-mail if you need further assistance.
:]
Ok I have really bad stagefright I can barely sing in front of one person yet I found a way to sing in front of Rae who is in charge of the play for our school. She gave me a part singing. The play is in front of the whole school and I need to fiure out how I can sing without dying in front of all those people. I have always been a good singer but only few people know that but I want a real music person to tell me if im good thats why I tried out for the play cause someone might be there that kind of is a recoding person and i have always imagined this happining in my dreams but i never thought it would. So please help me get over my stage fright
Thanks
Ha. I was actually in tears at an audition today. :/
You know you're good. That's why you got the part. If you want to become more confident, then please read my singing tips website on my column.
Good luck!
How do I know if im a good singer? I usually just sing at home when I'm bored, sometimes when my family is around, but usually when i'm like in a room by myself. I dont really mind singing for my family, but like how do I know if im a good singer? nobody in my family really knows that stuff and i wanna enter a competition in my school. i dont wanna get embarrased kinda like the people on american idol where they think they have talent when they really dont. :/
1.) Read my singing tips website (on my page, there is a link).
2.) Put it on YouTube and send me the link in your feedback.
3.) Leave your screen name in your feedback, and I'll IM you to discuss your voice.
I am trying to send my demo tape out but i have no record lable adresses.. Do you know any? please help
i`ll rate high!
You can't just send a demo. An agent or manager has to do it for you.
I have damaged my vocal chords pretty bad from over-singing and over-using them the past couple years. I am a singer& I have a show coming up in about 1 1/2 weeks.
Anything to make the temporarily[sp?] better?
Chloraseptic and gargling salt water. :)
I wanna hear you sing! Do you have a youtube video of you singing or music myspace or anything?
Oh, lord. Yeah, here, I'll put it up.
Just so you know, it's an arrangement (from a show I did a few months ago), and so it's not the melody, and the end is also part of a chord. I realize that it might sound off pitch, but it really isn't.
Also, my range is generally higher; this is the lowest thing I've ever sung.

I'm an aspiring broadway actress who is a teenager. My voice is very strong and pretty- but I have just one problem: I CAN'T BELT higher than my chest voice naturally would go. I mean- once I try to belt the higher notes such as in "Don't Rain on My Parade" I get this AWFUL sounding over-exerted nasal sound that is earsplitting. If I ever want to have a chance to actually audition for broadway productions I have to be able to belt. They don't write songs for voices like mine. HOW DO YOU TAKE YOUR CHEST VOICE HIGHER THAN IT NORMALLY WOULD GO WITHOUT BREAKING????? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
It's totally psychological. Have someone warm you up starting at the very bottom of your range, and you'll do fine.
For other singing tips, check out the website on my column. :)
i really enjoy singing and i want improve
i think i do some things wrong.
-first of all i am trying to breathe out of my diaphram, but i don't really understand how to do so...
-i want to improve my range, and i'm wondering if there is anything i can do to work on this? and i really want to learn how to sing runs and belt out songs
-also my voice is kind of weak and cracks at times and i'm wondering if there are any ways to strengthen it
-and my throat often hurts and i get really tired after singing a song and i don't think this is normal
so if anybody knows any ways to fix these problems or can find out any information, please let me know because i'd really like to improve!
In regards to the answers below me:
You do not necessarily need a voice coach.
Drinking water is great.
Singing a cappella has nothing to do with the way that you use your voice.
Now for my advice. I have answered these quations numerous times, so I hope that you don't mind me copying and pasting my own answers.
Have you ever heard the phrase "Practice makes permanent?" Regardless, it really does, so you need to learn how to read and write music.
Here: I'll teach you.
Clap your hands at a walking pace. (Clap *beat* clap *beat* etc.)
These are quarter notes. In common time, these each get one beat. Here is what they look like: http://www.mathmlcentral.com/characters/glyphs/QuarterNote_L.gif. Say "ta" each time you clap.
Now, we'll say a half note. Hold the "ta" for two claps. A half note looks like this: http://rath.ca/HomeSchool/MusicGifs/HalfNote.gif.
Hold the "ta" for three beats, and you get a dotted half note. The dot means that the note is held for its regular value, plus half. Here is what a dotted half note loks like: http://www.rath.ca/HomeSchool/MusicGifs/DottedHalfNote.gif.
Here's the last easy one. Hold the "ta" for four claps, and you get a whole note.http://www.rath.ca/HomeSchool/MusicGifs/WholeNote.gif.
Your hands might hurt from all of this clapping. If they do, take a break, then come back. If not, read on.
These are a little bit harder. Okay, clap again, same speed. By the way, the speed is called the tempo. As you clap, subdivide each beat. For example, each time you clap, you should have time to say any two syllable word. Let's use "bagel". Clap and say bagel each time you clap, remembering that bagel has two syllables. These are eighth notes. They look like this: http://z.about.com/d/musiced/1/0/W/3/eighthnote.gif, and when there are two of them together, they look like this: http://www.musicdepo.com/_borders/8th_Note_stickies.gif.
Last one that we'll talk about, and the last one that you will need. A sixteenth note is an eighth note divided in half (it's 1/4 of a quarter note). As you clap, say "tic-a-tic-a" all in one beat. you have just said sixteenth notes. Here is waht they look like:http://encyclopedia.quickseek.com/images/Sixteenth_note_run.png. Since four of them make a beat, they are usually written this way.
Now, there are also ways to write silence. These are called rests. Here is a chart that shows how the rests relate to the notes. You might want to print this out: http://www.enchantedlearning.com/music/label/fillnotesrests/answers.GIF.
Next topic: the musical staff. The treble staff ( http://www.rath.ca/HomeSchool/MusicGifs/TrebleClef.gif ) has 5 lines and 4 spaces. Here is a diagram of all of the notes as they relate to the piano: http://www.geocities.com/mecmirror/keyb_w_s.GIF.
To write music, you put the note (discussed earlier-this tells how long to hold it for, aka the rhythm) on the line or space that matches the pitch that you play(ed) on the piano/keyboard. You just have to make sure that all of the beats add up to four. You can have any combination of notes, on any pitches, as long as they add up to four.
Finding the key (or writing in a key) of the piece can be really, really hard. I suggest writing in the key of C natural if at all possible (don't play the black keys at all). It is easiest. However, life isn't always easy. Look at this piano: http://tlt.its.psu.edu/mto/music/keyboard.gif. The key is determined by which black keys are played (or not played). For example, play a G scale (all of the white notes starting with G). Do you notice that the F key is flat? Of course you do! You need to raise the pitch, or play the black key to the right of the F (the first black key in a group of 3), thus making it an F sharp, and completing your scale. A sharp sign is a pound sign. A flat sign is a lower case b. To write these on the staff, you put them next to the treble clef on the line or space equivalent to the note that you want sharped or flatted.
When writing the flats, they go in order. BEAD GCF. So, if there is only one flat, it will be a B flat (it has to be. No ifs, ands, or buts about it, kiddo). If there are two, it will be a B flat and an E flat. Etcetera. When there are a bunch of flats written in a piece, to find the key, look at the second flat from the right. Whatever note it is on is the key signature. If there is only one, it is the key of F. You kind of have to know that one.
Sharps go in the opposite order. FCG DEAB. Again, if there is only one sharp, it will be an F sharp, making it the key of G. Etcetera. To find the key of a piece with any sharps, you look at the last flat and count up one half step (to the next line or space), and whatever that is is the key. If it already has a sharp on it, then it is the letter sharp. For example, G sharp.
Next, you need to work on your ear. See, the thing about many poor singers isn't that the quaity of their voice is bad, it is that they are sharp or flat, usually flat. So, by improving the way your brain measures intervals, you will become a better singer. I suggest
http://www.good-ear.com/servlet/EarTrainer?chap=1&menu=0
http://www.solfege.org/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ear_training
to better your ear, and I found the Wikipedia article very helpful as you don't need to be able to read music to benefit from the information contained in it.
Run and do cardio. Start dance. These will help you lungs and endurance. It is a myth that singing only uses your throat. To be able to sing through an entire phrase, you need to have good endurance.
If your voice goes out on the high notes, you are not singing correctly.
You should always have good posture. Attain this by bending over to touch your toes and rolling yourself up and your shoulders back.
Practice sightreading. If you don't know what that is, it's reading music that you've never seen before and singing it. It helps to make you sing on pitch.
Also, I suggest learning a little about music theory so that you always know what is going on in the peice. Is there a crescendo? Mezzo di voce? A ritardando at the end? What is the tempo? If you can't answer these questions, a brush-up on music theory is in order.
Here is a great website for music theory: http://cctr.umkc.edu/~bauera/Gloss.html .
Get a straw. Sit up straight, and have your feet on the floor-one slightly in front of the other. Try to do this in front of a mirror. Place the sraw in your mouth, and breathe in through the straw. Your back should widen as you breathe in, but your chest should not rise very much at all.
Say "sqeelo" (skweeloh) with an italian accent on one note and then move up and up until you hit the top of your range.
Sing, " Bumble bee-ee bumble bee-ee bumble bee-ee bumble-bee." Play this on the piano, starting on middle C, and play CE DF EG FA GB AC BD C. Play the notes similar to that pattern coming back down the scale.
Go to the higher part of your range and sing, " Ee-ooh-ee-ooh-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee," legato, full voice.
Here is a website full of tips and tricks. http://www.vocalist.org.uk/exercises.html
I highly recommend the book Singing for Dummies available at Borders and at Barnes and Noble. It comes with a CD that is really great with warm-ups, which are always good to practice.
HERE IS HOW TO BREATHE USING YOUR DIAPHRAGM!
Breathe in until you can't anymore, and then take another little breath of air in. But do it like this: Get a straw. Sit up straight, and have your feet on the floor-one slightly in front of the other. Try to do this in front of a mirror. Place the sraw in your mouth, and breathe in through the straw. Your back should widen as you breathe in, but your chest should not rise very much at all.
Then exhale on ssssss (like a snake). Repeat and exhale as you pant like a puppy. Halfway between your sternum and belly button is your epigastrium, and it should bounce as you do this.

Q:i recently started taking voice lessons and my teacher said my voice sounds "cold" and is "too breathy" and i can't seem to fix it. i don't think i really understand and i need help figuring out how to acheive this. can anyone help me? thanks!
A:This means that your voice is not supported by your diaphragm. Try these exercises to improve drastically. It helps if you have a piano or a piano player. Also, ther are free online pitchpipes and pianos that you could use as well.
Ahh! DO NOT SUCK IN YOUR STOMACH OR STICK OUT YOUR CHEST!!
If you notice that you're singing with tension, get a piece of construction paper and hold it up to the bridge of your nose. Try to sing over it. My friend Eric had a similar predicament, and this is what he did, and now it's better, and his voice doesn't sound covered up.
Try this. It might be your problem. Also, be sure that you're breathing correctly. You should always have good posture. Attain this by bending over to touch your toes and rolling yourself up and your shoulders back.

I hope I helped, and if you have more specific questions, plese feel free to ask!

I think that this much info. should get you started.
I actually want to dedicate my life to helping others sing well, so drop me a line if you have any more quesitons or need other help.
i asked the question about singing earlier. thank you for your help. but i still have a problem...im not at all musical and don't play an instrument or anything so don't really understand. isn't there any other way i can train my ears?
Did you read what I wrote and did you cllick on all of the links?
I seriously told you how to read music and how to practice intervals. The Wikipedia article has ways to measure intervals without reading music.
So, my answer is no.
And, I don't really play an instrument either. I'm professional about what I do, annd quite frankly, I expect anyone else that is serious to do the same.
If you want to sing well, LEARN how to read music. Plus, studies have shown that people who read music are smarter than those who don't and their test scores go up.
