How do I know if im a good singer? I usually just sing at home when I'm bored, sometimes when my family is around, but usually when i'm like in a room by myself. I dont really mind singing for my family, but like how do I know if im a good singer? nobody in my family really knows that stuff and i wanna enter a competition in my school. i dont wanna get embarrased kinda like the people on american idol where they think they have talent when they really dont. :/

call your own house, or cell phone.
dont answer it
then, when the answering machine picks up, sing a song.
then, listen to the message.
you can then listen and see if you think it is good, then have others listen!
hananfriend answered Monday February 12 2007, 12:32 am: trust your self to do good every one goes throught these omge am i any good moments
but if you can sing a song in a popular place with mild butter flys i think you should go for this singing thing and at least you find out

2.) Put it on YouTube and send me the link in your feedback.
singtomebaby answered Sunday February 11 2007, 11:20 pm: try asking some of your friends who sing where they take voice lessons. ( I strongly reccommend lessons to anyone trying to sing) then call the voice teacher and schedule like a one time lesson, and ask them to give you a few pointers, tell them about the competition, and just listen to there feedback. if that doesn't work, then try recording yourself. get a blank tape, and but it in a boom box, (most boom boxes can record) and then hit record then after your done, rewind it back and listen to yourself. Most people can't stand there own voice, just remember you are your own worst cridict. and if singings part of your dream then you have to be willing to put yourself out there. Performing more will help you get over the nerves, perform for your friends and family, and anoyone who will listen as many times as you can, the more you do it, the less embarrissed you'll be. if you live close to me, i could point you in the direction of some really good performing oppertunities and vocal coaches. hope i helped! inbox me if your interested!
