so.. i put my first tampon in for the first time last night and i didn't really know how but i figured it out. i slept in it.. which was about eight to nine hours.. i woke up and went to the bathroom and i tried to take it out.. it didn't and so i went to the bathroom and it still didn't.. what do i do? is it because i stopped my period maybe? all i know is that it REALLY hurts when i try to take it out :(

It's really important that you remove this tampon now, even if it hurts to do so. It's not safe to leave a tampon in for longer than 8 hours as you are potentially putting yourself at risk of infection or even worse, Toxic Shock.

It could be that your period ended or that the absorbency is too high. Most females find that their flow is heavier and lighter at different times during their cycle. For example, it's common to have a heavy flow at the beginning and then a light one at the end of your period. If this is the case for you, you shouldn't be using the same absorbency of tampon the whole way through your period. You should always use the lowest absorbency possible. So if your period is very light, don't use a tampon designed for a heavy period.
