I changed my gauges gradually, going up a step each time so i dont tear or anything...i was just wondering if it was bad that i'm only waiting about a week to change the gauges to the next level. i just changed from a 12 to a 10 gauge. also, i've heard of "blowouts" with gauging your ears...and i may be wrong but when i changed my gauges a little bit of skin or tissue or whatever was pushed by the 10 gauge....is that concidered a blowout? it doesnt seem to be a problem right NOW...but then again i just did it. i cleaned both ears with bactine right after.

if you have any other tips, please feel free to tell me...i really want to gauge my ears the right way and i could use help from people who acually KNOW what they're doing.

Hi. I've managed to gauge my ears to 00. It only took 30 weeks. Ha. I guess you could say I know what I'm talking about, I mean I do have over 20 piercings. Here goes;

No, what you had was NOT considered a blowout. A blowout is when a huge chunk of skin comes off. And its very irritating and painful.

The easiest thing to do is wait one or two weeks after gauging to go to a size bigger. That way your ear has time to heal and can get used to something being that size.

Don't skip gauges. Its dangerous. Don't go 10 then 4. Go 10, 8, 6, 4 and so on.

Make sure you clean your ears at least twice a day with peroxide. That way they can't get infected and will stay clean.

Believe it or not, jewlery is very important. Make sure you use a good type of jewerly such as stainless steal or sterling silver. None of that fake crap.
