My name is Jen, I go to school, and occasionally learn things. I love James Dean, Hanson, Sloppy Firsts and Second Helpings by Megan McCafferty, Fall Out Boy, Elton John and Billy Joel. These make me overly qualified to give advice ESPECIALLY since I spend the vast majority of my time watching and obsesing over Oprah.

I've been through some stuff, and watched even more drama on TV, so I can help with your problems, no matter what your story is Wishbone.

i was always told that going on the pill would make your period stop completely (by freinds, not doctors) and lately i've been seeing a commercial about a pill that can reduce your period to only 3 days?? now, is it true that there is such a thing as a birth control pill that can make your period stop altogether, or is that just a myth? (link)
there's been huge debate over whether or not it's healthy for women to not have their period at all a year. Some doctors say it is, other's say its not. However, at the moment there is no birth control pill avaliable that stops your period (although depo vera the shot, does stop some women from menstruating).

You can use a regular birth control pill to skip your period if you're going camping, or on a trip or something. Seasonle is a birth control pill that claims to only give you four periods a year. However, what they don't tell you is that for one week of every month the hormone dosage is lower so some women will spot.

Some women just have naturally short periods. And when they go on the pill, they may menstruate for less time. It all depends on strength of the pill, and what kind of period you've had before going on it. For example if you've always had a heavy 7 day flow, chances are you won't be able to reduce it to three days.
